  1. In addition to the ticks on the spine I also see stress on the bottom staple and slight wear on the bottom right edge of the front cover which probably looks worse in the scan than in hand. I think it's VF/NM / NM-
  2. AWESOME! I hunted for years to find a nice mid-grade copy of this. I can imagine how excited you must be. This is just a great book.
  3. Really great job packing and the shipping time was unbelievably fast.
  4. I can't recall the exact specifics, but it was the word of mouth / google search after the first NY comic con that brought me here.
  5. Rick - do you find that GA is slowing down on non-keys? If so, what's your theory as to why? Thanks - Trent
  6. The thing that makes WD, for me, different than the other independents it inevitably gets compared to simply by virtue of being a B&W image title is that WD stays on time. A lot of monthlys that started out hot and cooled really did so, at least in my opinion, due in large part to a very erratic shipping schedule. Multimedia exposure, huge public pop-culture awareness, and an on-time schedule makes it an incredibly unique study.
  7. Great book. Uncommonly good centering of the front cover. That's a real beauty.
  8. And yeah, Superior is an incredibly good book. People that hate it just because it's "different" are missing out.
  9. I don't think it's passed FF1, I'm not sure it's going to happen anytime in the near future.
  10. Claudio's packaging is second to none and his communication is excellent.
  11. I have no problem with someone that has their prices on a separate document (after all, why make it easier for thieves to target a bigger dollar item). I don't like dealers that price nothing and then pull out a guide.
  12. Because it doesn't have a sexy Mary Jane as Venom on it. That cover is by far the best spider man cover I've ever seen IMO. I would f***king die if I owned the OA to that cover.....I'm a sucker for drawn girls..especially Mary Jane..... I actually think it's a pretty terrible cover. I think if that's what's driving it, the 606 variants should be significantly more valuable.
  13. I mean, if ASM 678 is consistently a $300 book why can't the Ditko cover (as a $7.99 1:200) double that? It's a great cover. I'm rather bullish on its near-term potential.
  14. Avenging 15.1 is the only one to show the "claws" that were discussed a while back. So, to me, that's the only appearance of "Superior" so far. Whether it counts as a full or cameo (since the claws are the last page or two) remains to be seen and debated. I'd call it full, but I can see it as a cameo.
  15. Daredevil #21 - 1st appearance of Superior Spiderman, comes out today I'm going out on a limb here, but I think ASM 698, Daredevil 21, and Avenging 15.1 are probably going to be, in some capacity, the "modern" Marvel Team Up 141 / ASM 252 (and, why not, Secret Wars 8).
  16. For the most part, I agree. This one is very much Hulk 181 all the way (which is also a fairly "common" book). Character's popularity is going to drive the price more than anything else.
  17. It's a little bit of both. The book is not uncommon, but it's only going for "hundreds" in 9.8. There are 800+ in 9.8, so it's not all that uncommon either. The books sitting in an overstock bin or forgotten in a storage locker may not be 9.8's all, and that is overlooked. The raw "ebay NM" is still a $60-$80 book, and I don't think that's all out of line when the character's popularity is considered. It's when those start going for $100+ consistently that one needs to say the bubble's ready to burst, because the market can/will be absolutely saturated with "good enough" raw copies.
  18. What was it about ASM #1 in particular that re-sparked your enthusiasm for the hobby? I've always been a huge Spider-Man fan, so it was a logical "engine revving" purchase.
  19. So 10X actual graded copies? That puts the number at, give or take, 14K...? I think that's probably a fair estimate.
  20. I had all but given up on collecting comics after about 12 years of solid collecting, I just didn't find "fun" in them. Then I went to a show with a good friend of mine, and picked this up. I was bitten again by the collecting bug (pun sort of intended) and I've been "back" ever since.
  21. I'd imagine those are the prices you'll see in the near term. Just for comparison's sake, WD 100 had a 1:200 that was around $149-$249 on release day. Then, the subsequent Lucille variant had an alleged 500 print run. Assuming 300,000 copies of ASM 700 (on the highside, I admit) and you have 450ish of the 1:700 cover. The Lucille sold for $349-$500 on release day, So, just using the WD 100 1:200 and 500 total (which, for all intents and purposes is 1:700) the pricing structure seems to suggest that $200 and $400 should be the going prices for the ASM variants (though the 1:700 is an "all bets are off" thing as I can't imagine even the most aggressive LCS's believing they can justify the order to hit that plateau).
  22. Brock was absolutely great to deal with on the FF 1 I purchased from him. Great communication, easy transaction and bullet-proof shipping. I'm a very happy (and likely now a repeat) customer. Trent
