I've bid several times on Heritage, but today was the first time I ever tuned into the live auction, on a lark, right when they were doing the Action Comics #1. $6 mil, after premium, pretty sure that's an all time record, though the auctioneer didn't comment. Was cool to watch it though. Anyway, I got outbid on everything I bid on.

I think that, some have gone to considerable lengths to give the original victim the benefit of the doubt and 'empathy toward how she feels', regardless of if they even completely agree and certainly in light of what happened as a result.
That's a GOOD thing to have and to do for others.
I don't think everyone has extended the same empathy towards Ed.

Have my doubts.
FYI I contacted the seller last week, before making this thread, and he expressed ignorance and told me he'd take down the auction, contact CGC, and relist without that book. Seemed like an honest mistake, and I wished him well. When I went back on Monday and saw that it was still going, that's when I made this thread. Now, 4 hours left in the auction, it's still up and unchanged. If he actually is going to send it in, what's the plan here?

There is a popular sentiment throughout this thread that the accusers should have "manned up" and ignored him. So what if he was a "creep" or a "dirtbag", were prior statements in this thread. Someone went so far as to say that Ed was the true victim. Another person suggested that he was actually "murdered." Now we have people dissecting an accuser's art.
Now, I'm a haggard old man like nearly everyone else in this thread and, indeed, on this forum, and like most of you, I think the new generation is generally too soft. We also know that cyberbullying is real and can be lethal (much better examples of that are the numerous teen suicides linked to that, often teenage girls). However, to the above posters, I challenge you to look for the hypocrisy in what you're suggesting. You are putting the onus on accusers to be the "bigger man" while assigning no responsibility to a 40something man to 1) watch his comments with teens and 2) "man up" and either ignore or confront the internet mob blowback. Had he done either of those things, we wouldn't be here right now.
I have no animosity toward the man, and I am sorry for those who felt a connection to him and his art. I would, however, suggest that a better path forward would be remembering him rather than speculating about his accusers.

I don’t care to litigate what Ed did or didn’t do, what I do know is if you or someone you love has never done/said something stupid then, uh, congratulations. The rest of us imperfect people need to look at Ed and hope we aren’t judged by our worst moment. Because if this isn’t a cautionary tale, then I don’t know if we’ll ever learn to be better.
I don't think that happened. And what I find to be an indictment on the state of internet culture is the current trend of twisting (or fabricating entirely) "facts" to fit an agenda. But feel free to prove me wrong with a link to such a post.
Now what I have seen is on various message boards and subreddits is things like "posts denigrating the accusers will be removed." (Different statement, obviously.) And I just now looked on r/comicbooks, and what I see, and which anyone can go right now and fact check, is an 852 comment thread with a lot of posts echoing sentiments being expressed here and in support of Ed. Those posts have not been removed and those posters have not been banned. I think you'll be okay.

Shrunken head Hulk variant?
Had the same reaction. Been in the market for a gray Hulk, but not down with this tiny head/no neck.

Is this worth the price of admission?
The book itself is well reviewed, but I'd just do this one for $15. https://a.co/d/bEopAsR

His Wolverine Limited and Daredevil were my introduction to comics in the early 80s. DKR is similarly one of my fondest memories from the 80s. Ronin was decent. I quit comics around the time of Sin City but the first few were decent. Either way, I'd say the answer is sometime in the 90s.
When I came back to collecting in 2018 I immediately grabbed Absolute editions of DKR, DK Strikes Again, and Master Race. Promptly sold the latter two because I couldn't even bear to have them on the shelf. What works for me is just thinking of Miller strictly as 80s Miller.

It's not quite HoS worthy since I'm not out any money, just time. The Probation list is one potential avenue; however he now has no way to remedy the issue since the book was sold to someone else.
I'd say, aside from simply not completing the transaction, the behavior displayed in this thread is worth at least one of the lists.

In case you needed it, one more reason to buy the book and not the label.

I received my Arthur Adams Retrospective HC art book in the mail today. This was a Kickstarter that I backed in May and I decided to get the signed limited edition cover (500) with all the trimmings. It came with a signed envelope and 5 prints, one signed. It also included a couple of neat bookmarks. Very slick package, which you'd expect from Flesk Publications. Very happy with this and look forward to hopefully having some time next week to sit down with it and enjoy. (Note - tried getting the third image upright, to no avail.)
Lots of attributes here.

That's the ticket. Declare victory and move on.
Even better would be just moving on, but guess we'll take what we can get.

Eh, these two pics are showing the same thing, just the "before" is out of focus. I see this all the time on ebay books when one pic is soft.
