On to the winners!
And in the I JUST COULDN'T HOLD IT category (sponsored this year by Donnie Cates), @Benedict Judas Hel wins with his OHOTMU JRJR and JR urinating Mr. Hyde pinup. Congratulations! This pretty much sums up what COVID, crypto, and card collectors have done to comic art prices lately.

I had to buy a new vehicle for sister last month so my finances will be severely limited for the next 5 years (but I hope to cut it down to 4). Thus, I will have to drastically cut back on my commission collecting for the foreseeable future (unless it is too good to pass by). Otherwise, I hope to add some more Official handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition villain pages to my collection. Keeping it simple…for now.

…just re-read the contest rules and participation ended last night. Oh, well. I guess there’s always next year…

I also never knew the man nor got to meet him but I greatly admire his willingness to still meet with and greet as many fans as he given his limited time. As an artist, he was undoubtedly great but as a person, he will be immeasurable.
I only wish I had gotten in the art commission game sooner to be able to get my usual Vega/Baroness requests from him.

I broke my original art dry spell recently with the purchase of The Interloper by Don Perlin and Josef Rubinstein at Comic Art Live last week:
As it appears in The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition issue # 6:
It is not a villain per my usual collecting habit but it is obscure. This is the first piece I’ve purchased with the intent to trade for another (OHOTMU villain) should it arise.- Twanj, ADAMANTIUM, ThothAmon and 2 others

I got in a few items in today. First I got in an 8” x 10” Baroness commission by Sorah Suhng:
Then I received this 11” x 17” Baroness and Vega sketch by Karl Janot as a “thank you” for my patience:
Patience for waiting for my latest 11” x 17” cover homage commission of Thor #359 featuring Vega and The Baroness:

A fun commission that is a bit of a departure from the norm ... combining a couple of personal passions - more on the CAF page
Love the Dead Milkmen reference…if there was one with the title of this commission.

I met Alex at a con two years ago. He was only selling prints of his digital work, and I urged him to do more work on paper so there would be original art to sell. Nice guy.
Personally never met Alex as I have only communicated with him via e-mail but he seemed very friendly and receptive. And a big thanks for helping to convince him to do more traditional artwork! Love this piece he did for me as well as the Vega he did a few years ago.

Thank you for this! I was eyeing this character earlier contemplating....
If Facebook ever does ads of things I've contemplated or talked about it's weird
But when the boards does it, it's a win win
Haha
No problem! I wanted to give it some time during Comic Art Live but I assumed (correctly it seems!) that other people would be interested in it as well once the event went live to non-CAF members as it would not last long. So, it was a bit more than I wanted to pay for it but overall I am glad I jumped on it to add to my collection of second, third and fourth string villains.
