  1. The suspicion might’ve came from the fact that you targeted Nerdy Girl and took an immediate deep dive into the sales data. Which in all honesty, I think was pretty weird considering you said you were new to the hobby.
  2. Most certainly a place I wouldn’t spend my money at.
  3. A thread where I can show off this beauty? Don’t mind if I do!
  4. You should just submit the cover and get the pedigree label. No need to ruin a perfectly good cover.
  5. People are sleeping out on DC, there’s so many good books you can get for reasonable prices.
  6. We’re back! Oh how missed the boards!
  7. 2 copies? I’ll happily take one of them off of your hands, for free of course. My DM’s are open.
  8. Sorry to hear about your purchase cancellation, but this isn’t the way to go about it. If a boardie bought a book from your sales thread, you should honor the purchase they’ve made. It’s the right thing to do.
  9. I look at my key books and think “I should sell these, but I’ll never get them back” so I haven’t bothered to sell the stuff I care about.
  10. I understand there’s many reasons as to why the owner may not have came forward. The big one is privacy concerns most likely, an OA art piece rumored to have been destroyed but was somehow saved from a fire? That’s a lot of attention put on to that person now, which again, is totally understandable. Personally to me it’s just one of those “you’ll have to see it in order to believe it” type ordeals. Overall I am thankful for the art that is shown on CAF as there’s some really cool pieces that just have that “wow” factor to it because you didn’t think anyone could own something like that, or think OA like that still existed today.
  11. This was a thought I had in mind too, maybe if it did survive the fire, it was kept secret for that reason alone. Hulk #181 has became a huge book within the last year or so and I could only imagine how much the OA would go for in today’s market.
  12. I’m not trying to say it’s odd to keep some things in your collection private, but odd in the sense of some people claim it was destroyed while other people claim it wasn’t. It’s just one of those things that makes me skeptical because you can’t just believe everything you see when there’s two sides of the story.
  13. That’s 100% understandable and I get that. I just think it’s odd that it hasn’t surfaced in over 10 years if it did manage to survive a house fire. If those privileged people have seen it and know the whereabouts, then they’re part of a special group of people for sure.
  14. That percentage seems a bit high, but I’m aware not everything is posted on there. I’m not saying just because you own a piece of OA, it should be posted. I just thought that if the Hulk #181 cover or story pages did survive, why hasn’t anyone shown it off yet? The GSX #1 cover was rumored to have been destroyed in the fire, but that was debunked.
  15. If they survived, who’s the current owner? Wouldn’t the cover or story pages be on CAF?
  16. Yes but but it’s not on the same level as cleaning, trimming, or color touch since you’d be altering or adding to the book in order for it to present better.
  17. I don’t consider marrying a page or cover restoration. Restoration is adding to a book to improve its esthetics, whereas marrying is just exchanging parts amongst the same issued comic; all the parts are original to that issue, just across several copies of the same comic.
