Great book!! That exact issue in that exact condition was the first CGC Strange Tales book that I bought to start my run
-
When I saw that book, I was hoping you'd pick it up! Congrats
-
I see, so "Dad" has softened her up for you! Why that's brilliant, diabolically brilliant
-
Thanks JB Macman, I was specifically refering to purchases in the 2K+
range. When its equivalent to a nice vacation or a car down payment I've found that the lil' lady's understanding and acceptance disappears in a New York second!!
-
Thanks Danny and AC!! I made the mistake of balking at my girlfriend when she said "You must have paid 5K for that"!! If its one thing I've learned NEVER volunteer this information. Let them think its a significant amount of money and leave it at that. Anything else is flirting with disaster

Okay, okay, though the ebay story was more fun. Bought it off Heritage two years ago when I had the funds. The Sandman had just been announced for SM 3 and I had to have it. Remains the cornerstone of my entire collection

Seeing Spider-man 3 today inspired me to share this grail of mine with you guys:
Got it for $100 off ebay

Calling all board members... (you know who you are )

Thanks guys!!! I'm slowly starting to pick up books from this part of the run. My original focus has always been on a HG #101-134 run and upgrading those books remains a priority. It's funny how those fuggin completionist tendencies creep in though!! The same thing happened on my TTA run. Originally it was going to be #27, 35-69 with no latter books. I went and bought 2 "cool" hulk covers in #75 and #85 and now I'm working on finishing that complete run as well!!
As for that Mastronet auction, I didn't get my bid in on time and lost out
If anyone here won the book and would like to make a tidy profit on it I'm VERY interested. Also, what does "PWN" stand for? "Pretty wicked nice'? "Positively worthy of notice"? "Pollutes western nations"? Just curious

This just in:
One of my favorite Dr Strange ST covers. The Living Tribunal :

I hope its the Abomination. Would make for a hearty slugfest Just got this one + it has a "Jay Parrino, The Mint" sticker on back
Great Marie Severin cover. She's definitely underrated IMHO.

Bill, ...so there's a new Hulk movie in the works
Will be interesting to see what happen's with Hulk titles leading up to the release.
Of Course the big question is who/it/what is going to be the nemesis in the movie
Still holding tight on your TTA #90 WM
I would be if Rich hadn't bought it first...
I was so convinced
... basically I'm in regret mode, I didn't push more on my own bidding for the book.
So I'll take a as well for being one of the competition.
The only small consolation, is at least you know where the book is.
White Mountain TTA's!!!! White Mountain TTA's!!!!!!!! Mwahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! Mine, mine, mine!!!I'm a happy little miser!!!!
Ok, ok, we'll take the gloat on the chin... only because I for one would be equally 'diplomatic' about owning the book.
p.s. dib's being front of the que when you you come to sell
Thought my clearly over the top "greed" tirade would be seen as kidding, "mock gloating" The "happy little miser" quote refers to a classic Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck cartoon with a genie, an island and lots of treasure. Fuggin hilarious IMHO
