  1. I know many of your golden age guys and gals don't check the sales forum too often but I have something I'm selling that may be of interest to some of you: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2216718&page=1#Post2216718 Thanks! Don
  2. I'm horrible at remembering to leave Kudo's but if you've bought from me, it's MORE than appreciated! My wife thanks you too! I will leave kudo's to ciorac for selling me my first Mile High book!
  3. I just discovered this thread and I have a few that I'll show off as I don't show off too much on these boards: Fiction House books seem to be miscut more than any of the other GA publishers, at least from what I've noticed. I don't mind a miscut too much unless it's more than about 25 degrees off kilter. These are all fairly recent pick-ups
  4. Jeff, I had this thread up last night waiting for you to post that. (thumbs u Here's my recent pick-up. My first of this title. (the speck at the top right corner is on the outside of the mylite and not from the book)
  5. My settings says 666 pages! only 200 pages for me... 125 here!
  6. Well, thankfully Hobby Lobby runs that sale about every 3-5 weeks. They email me their ads on Sunday so I usually have a heads-up on the sales.
  7. You went with the double matt. Nice job! I think we all bought the same frames! I should have bought more in that size to have as extras while they were on sale.
  8. I'm late to the game but here's the pieces again that Stronguy was talking about:
  9. I've jumped off the SA JLA ship. If any of you guys are interested I've been posting them in the sales forum. Fun while it lasted but this gold fever I have may take awhile to cure! (thumbs u
  10. Now that I compare my #1 to the ones shown here...it doesn't look so bad!
  11. Looks about like my #2! My number #1 can be found in the Grading Forum... please post your grades! (thumbs u
  12. Newt where are you!??! These SO need to start getting graded! Cool magazine! (thumbs u
  13. A lot of people find themselves looking that way. Unusual euphemism though, "my Vampirella's". Jack
  14. I guess I'm going to try and focus more on fewer titles, which is extremely tough for me to do. That said, my Vampirella's are steadily growing and now I'm looking at Jumbo's and Phantom Lady's. Golden Age just seems to have an overwelming appeal
  15. You know... as crazy as this sounds... collecting Silver Age Justice Leagues hasn't been quite as interesting as I'd hoped it would be. I'm now considering selling all the ones I have and sticking to my other titles. I definitely have not been interested in buying uber-grade books as there are so many other titles that interest me. Oh well... sorry for my ramblings
  16. Where the heck are you guys finding such nice copies of these books raw? I have no luck in finding raw ones that look like these. My best raw JLA under issue 60 is probably 8.0-8.5
  17. And to you sir! That First Grell Action is a nice book isn't it!
  18. I've never posted my #1 for anyone to see as it is a beater but it's mine!
  19. I picked this #2 up at WW Texas for less than half of guide. There's no major pieces missing or anything but it has just about every defect you can imagine... sub crease, tape on spine, writing (or rather "creative" drawing) on cover and inside. All the pages are there and the writing (drawing) are done in red ink so it's not too distracting. Otherwise... I'm pleased with this copy, especially at the price I paid. I also picked up issue #76 which is a real beauty. No disappointment on this one at all! I actually paid more for this one then I did for the #2
  20. Something tells me I'm going to have a really hard time completing my early JLA run. I have a complete run from about 27 to 61 with some earlier issues before that. (actually quite a few earlier issues) I do have a #1 also but it's a horribly low grade copy... maybe a 2.0 at most. All of mine with the exception of the #1 are F/VF or better and I was hoping to pick some up this weekend at Wizard World in Texas. Last year though, most everything under issue 100 was complete junk. I am glad I picked up my #1 last year though before the prices jump too out of control with a movie possibly in the works. Guess I should splurg for the Brave and Bold 28 while I can too... at least in a low grade? What do you guys think?
