  1. Getting back to original topic - I had about 7 childhood copies of Star/Marvel Masters of the Universe #1. Submitted all to CGC and 6 came back 9.8 back in early 2021. Kept 1 for myself and sold the other 5 9.8s for around $450 each. Current 90 day is around $175. Not a huge book so I am making up the impact on volume
  2. Silver, Bronze and Copper all really started the down leg in Spring of 2021. Silver had a Fall rally but started a more robust decline in Spring 2022. here is a whole multi-year thread if you want to waste some hours.
  3. Don't let this lowly Silver guy (me) creep over here and stir up trouble!
  4. Please be gentle with me.....I am not a hard-core GA collector and have only had a passing interest in the Promise Collection (and only read the last half dozen pages of this thread). I have never seen a robust recap of the GA market overall but there are some where people have been tracking Silver, Bronze, and Copper (Silver attached below for reference). Most of these indexes show that the Mid-to-late 2021 window was the peak and all those markets are off those peaks by roughly 50%. The original Promise Collection auctions hit right during that peak window. Is the belief that the decline in Promise books is outside/above any normal declines in GA overall market? I appreciate that there are some very brutal numbers in that recap for some books - so the aggregate view may mask the challenge of many specific Promise books. And also appreciate that GA may be harder to "index" for multiple reasons. Just curious - especially with the polarizing effect that the Promise Collection seemed to engender among some collectors.
  5. Here are some highlights from the rest of the Feb/March Session 2 Clink auction. This has a lot more of the work-a-day books/grades. There are actually some encouraging signs buried in here if you look past all the red (except for books like GSX 1) - a lot more places where last sale, 90-day average and/or 12 month average are getting closer together. Some of the GPA data around last thru 12 month average is probably more relevant than the actual Clink results.
  6. And yet this happened on Heritage at the same time.....
  7. If you look at these three index charts from the Swagglehaus video I posted on previous page - one could argue that the Silver and Bronze market is starting to flatten. They might be reaching a point where they are just going to bounce around the current levels - when viewed in aggregate - while individual books may continue to under or over perform. Copper may still have some more room to correct. At a minimum the rate of decline is improving. Go back two years or so and the monthly declines were pretty staggering
  8. Who paid $24k for silver surfer #7 9.8 in 2022? The early Batman’s did well. And seems like the high grade silver is doing a bit better than the mid-grade….just look at that ASM #11 9.2.
  9. Here are the Feb ComicLink Results - Session 1 and the first day of Session 2. Session 1 was full of less frequently sold goodies so take it for what its worth. Not sure if I will find time this week to finish up Session 2.......
  10. Finally completed my "Spidey Villains in White" triptych. I have always found these three white covers so unique given they were so close together (#68 is also white but no villain). Don't really see another cluster of such iconic covers with the same color theme in the Silver or Bronze run (maybe there are some yellow covers in those bronze days? there A LOT of yellow ASM covers). #66 may be my all time favorite Spidey cover.
  11. Depending on how this goes - I may drop a few more Bronze 9.8 later.
  12. Incredible Hulk #234. CGC 9.8 WP
  13. Spectacular Spider-Man #27. CGC 9.8 WP.
  14. Micronauts #1 CGC 9.8 WP.
  15. Nova #1 CGC 9.8 WP.
  16. Marvel Spotlight #32 CGC 9.8 OW/W.
  17. Amazing Spider-Man #1. CGC 7.0 OW/W. Great colors on this one and a nice white cover.

  19. Just to capture a little better image for posterity
  20. And it the same auction - this earthbound, mere-mortal 3.5 had a nice night. Best result since last summer.
  21. And it is up for sale already in the April Signature auction on Heritage. The scan on Heritage makes it look better too https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/superhero/tales-of-suspense-39-marvel-1963-cgc-nm-mt-98-white-pages/p/7369-117010.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515
  22. Goldin Auctions - Supes #1 Feb 17 2024
  23. I bet if CGC or someone were to go pull a relevant statistical sample of slabs from across the US and remove and inspect each book - the actual failure rate would be incredibly low.
