    I am thinking the current grade is around ~5.0. The book would improve with a clean and press. But not sure how much of that would translate into grade improvement. Wait for opinions from more experienced members.

    I informed the boardie from whom I bought the book. And he also confirmed that this has happened to him too. So I guess this depends on the mailman too.

    I believe they want to use the same post as a recap later. The easy fix that some sellers opt is to prevent any 'take' on a book until the scan has been posted.

    I am so happy that it got resolved in your favor! While eBay and PayPal have come a long way to provide 'buyer protection', they're still lagging in terms of protecting the seller. The lack of 'seller protection' is the reason I avoid selling directly to other people. If something like this ever happened to me, I doubt that I would be able to fight my case like you did. Kudos. This is why I generally take the easy way and consign my books with an online retailer I trust. At the cost of 10% fees, I get the desired 'seller protection' in the aboslute sense.

    Most of the defects are light/very light creases. And we have to grade it based on scans without getting the book in hand. We did a good job I would say 😃

    9.4+ As I never grade raw books higher than 9.4. I'm taking your word that the book is flawless. As far as CGC 9.8's are concerned they can have minor manufacturing errors.
