  1. I know. Interest in the book has piqued. A lot of people secretly want to own this book now. I'm probably not going to win this book.
  2. Since this book is a bit controversial, a lot of the regulars on the PGM board refrained from grading it.
  3. This is the first time I have seen a book being graded 1.8 and 8.0 in the same thread.
  4. 2.5 First Diablo. I recently got a raw copy for myself.
  5. Thank you. I am not experienced with mold either. I'm just trying to get a reasonable estimate of the grade. So that I can bid accordingly.
  6. Is there a policy that CGC won't grade books with mold?
  7. Please help me grade this book. Seller Notes: OWW page quality. Unrestored. Disclaimer: I don't own this book. Yet. I am planning to bid on this book.
  8. I don't recommend spending 2000$ on your first press. You can get a cheaper one within 300$. Look at eBay, there will be many to choose from.
  9. I was close to CGC's grade. I just want to know did you clean and press before grading?
  10. 4.5 Definitely press. Even a 0.5 improvement on the grade is worth more than the cost of pressing.
  11. Coming back to the book, you may be right that the book looks like a 5.0. But rusty staples/rust migration and discoloration on the front cover can bring down the grade to 3.0, as one boardie have correctly pointed here.
  12. I have some experience with rusty staples as well as cover oxidation, but not via CGC submission, rather with Mycomicshop(MCS). I once bought a raw 9.0 from eBay, which when I sold through MCS, was graded 6.5. The book had minor rust on staples! I bought a raw 7.0 from a boardie here, which when I sold through MCS, was graded 4.5. The book had minor cover oxidation (which was disclosed by the boardie). What I've understood is that they are notoriously strict when it comes to defects like rusty staples or cover oxidation, and flat out take at least 4 grades off. This would hold for structurally mid to high grade books. Obviously a book that is structurally 2.5 cannot be graded a 0.5 because it has rusty staples or cover oxidation. That would cause mayhem!
  13. 5.5 Stains on front cover beside "The Punisher". Front cover bottom left corner has a pressable defect. My grade is conservative primarily due to the condition of the back cover. After clean and press I can hope for 7.0+
  14. 7.5 I see I'm off from the consensus grade. As pointed pressing would improve the grade.
  15. True that it looks 3.5-4.0 But with centerfold detached you'll likely get 2.5-3.0
