  1. I love the 7. Only early FF cover that Kirby drew and inked. Not to mention his own self portrait on the billboard sign (Reed Richards). The 7 still has the pre hero Atlas monster/Sci Fi feel to it.
  2. Court, I thought that Bunky's was a 7.5. Anyways, didn't G.A.tor use to own a Tec 29 7.5 at some time or another? Paging Rick.... I believe 7.0 Thanks Peter. I couldn't remember if it was a 7 or 7.5. It might even be the same one Bunky has now. Definitely 7.0. There are pics earlier in this thread. The book is an absolute stunner (looks much nicer than a 7.0 from the FC, but is missing a small chunk on the bc per Gator's inside info. it looks even better in hand (thumbs u the piece on the BC is along the spine and is somewhat conceiled at first from what I recall.
  3. Court, I thought that Bunky's was a 7.5. Anyways, didn't G.A.tor use to own a Tec 29 7.5 at some time or another? Paging Rick.... nope it is a 7.0 old label tec 29. Rick sold it to Bunky.
  4. nice greens. Those greens are hard to find deep colored on an Xmen 1...you sure are paying off alot of books
  5. doesn't have to be "this thread" material And, yes, plenty in your treasure box I'd like
  6. Sean, I'm glad you know your books better than I do (thumbs u It's been awhile since I saw that F3 in hand. Would love to see/hear more about your great collection
  7. that was quite a 4.0 run of pre robins you had Brian. I thought CGC had a "ceiling" grade of 5.0/5.5 on books that had such spine splits...? Yep, it was a fabulous run I pulled. I don't think I can pull it off again unless I win the lottery I really don't know what the ceiling is for spine splits. But, I know back then if the spine splits are around an inch or more at both top and bottom, I think the ceiling that time was around the 4.0/4.5 range. I guess now it has changed? you could be right. I know the Central Valley Fantastic 3 is CGC 5.5 because of a 3" or so split. Otherwise, it looks 9.0ish. I know you will get your pre Robin run back (even if lower grade)

  9. from a 4 to a 6. That's some black magic right there. Spine splits be gone!
  10. and I just sold my 5.0 for far north of that, so the 6.0 should be juicier Was yours on Greg's website? Anyways, that 5.0 is sold as well.. Big sale! yes.
  11. no I spoke to Greg about it yesterday as I was curious on the details. The buyer requested complete privacy on the transaction. I'm glad it found a new home
  12. and I just sold my 5.0 for far north of that, so the 6.0 should be juicier wow, going to be interesting to watch. I would like to see what a comparable TEC 29 goes for. That Tec 31 is beautiful, but Tec 29 is my pet book. Given a choice, I'd rather drop 100k+ on a Tec 29 7.0 or higher. Probably a good idea now that TEC 29's are half off - compared to TEC31's. Speaking of...I was at the bank yesterday so I pulled this little gem out of storage and took a pic as I realize I hadn't posted it. This is the one from Clink back in Feb. Very nice 29 dannyboy. I wondered who had owned that 29 from Clink. I see your 29 in 2.5 and raise you a 31 in 2.5 While most of the world would agree with you, I think its just a call.

  15. It's nice to see all these great copies coming out of the woodwork. Awesome pick up. -J. I actually sold that to Fish about 6 years ago. I'm sure he's posted it before you should have sold it to me I'm sure I offered it to you Bill, but you insisted on buying yet another Batman 1 instead

  17. Yep, the seller told me there are only 60 pages so it is missing one wrap and the inner spine is quite brittle. Darn.
  18. Awesome reacquisition Ben!!!!! I love this book and mark my words I will someday join the prestigious MM9 club!!! thanks Gino! You are quite a savvy low grade collector (thumbs u
  19. I like the cap 1/3, all selects 1-2, USA 7-8 for sure. All due respect I can't get myself to like Cap 46 or MM 40/44/46. I still like the mm9 even if it has tanked. . Rick, for years MM9 has always been one of those books that you would rarely see at a show on a dealers wall and had super demand. It's a tremendous Subby cover. I really didn't think it would fall as much as it has. I still think it will cost someone at least $3k to get a complete copy, whether the demand is there or not. Perhaps it has hit a low end of the demand cycle.
  20. Great book, Ben! When I grow up, I hope to be a true Timely collector. Jeff, based on your sig line you are a big boy Timely collector So, just curious, but what do you, and everybody else, think are the Top 5 Timely books? Not ranked but: MC #1 CA #1 MM #9 CA #46(?) CA #3 So tough to have just five! that's a reasonable list but I would swap out the Cap 46 for an All Select 1. That's just me though.
