  1. Go back and look at Fine's Quality work. he was very good as well. The timely fan in me favors Schomburg.
  2. There were lots of great cover artists, but Schomburg was arguably a master at drawing detailed bridges, planes, tanks, ships, and machinery,
  3. Did somebody stop a bloody nose with the back cover?? That's about as good as a 4.0 gets in terms of presentation. perhaps an 8.0 trapped in a 4.0 SS
  4. Glad to see I am not the only one that does not have a problem completing runs with lower grade reading copies. (thumbs u nice pick ups I've always liked the Spidey pose on the 13.
  5. Choose one... Who do you want to win the SEC championship...'Bama or Georgia? do either teams this year have any brittle O-lines or RB's?
  6. to the neithers and abstains...why not play fine fine If these are the only 2 USA 7s left on the planet and I can't crack either of them, then I am taking the 1.8. Then I'd do an Ameri "mylar trick" by making a form fit color copy of that lower right missing piece and tape it to the outside of the slab. That would help a "little" with the eye sore missing piece.
  7. just like the Tec 8 you swapped me several years ago (for a USA 7 coincidently)---that Tec was plod 2.0 slightly brittle due to weakness in two tear sealed pages. Had the tear seals undone and it came back blue 1.5 cr/ow.
  8. not counting the pages on a raw book is like buying a car without test driving
  9. and full scan of the Slab with new scanner
  10. Way to hot. My books prefer a cooler northern climate. it's nice and cool where I am Russ
  11. Action 7 First time the word "Superman" was printed on a comic book's front cover.
  12. The funniest part of that cover is "a mysterious bag holds the secret." Looks like a kid holding a log to me. Is that a secret log perhaps? The Captain's log? Very mysterious. The dark stain in his pants doesn't help either... Dell Publishing was a force in those days.
  13. Nice book. I have a question. Is the 50 still super golden age size? I get conflicting stories about that. I think someone said it was and the 51 was sort of a hybrid between super gold size and the narrower run that started with the 52. looks super gold size to me.
  14. Now we are getting ready for "Bedrock City Tutor Night" where we help the local kids with their homework. I can skype or facetime with students if anyone needs help
  15. Schomburg lover too? Real hard to pick his stuff. If I had one, Suspense #3 would be right there though... yup, I'm in the Schomburg fan club. Nice sig picture Robot Man
  16. These are probably my top ten (give or take). Just run of the mill GA: Didn't have any space for the 10th on my photo frame above:
  17. Because the splits were sealed, CGC realized they missed the seals, the book was regraded and the seals were reopened. And don't feel too bad. Had I known what Detective 31s would be going for today I never would have sold the 7.0 for a down payment on a house. I would have waited and sold it to buy the whole house. Had I known what Action 1s were going to go for, I would have sold the house, bought a few and ... gotten divorced and ended up homeless! you guys really love funny books
  18. It sure is Billy. Love the free fall Cap pose and the Brenner Pass historical context. One of the best Cap covers this side of #26.
  19. I think it used to be Dark Knight's before he sold his pre robins off. It was a 4.0 when he sold it and then it went 6.0 and now 5.0.
  20. congrats. It's a tougher 1943 book. Most don't want to cut it loose.
  21. you're the best at finding a marriage partner .
  22. You guys will love this one. At 6:28 he sings the whole MMMS song.
