Got a Sub-Mariner #13, perchance?
Yes, but not handy, unfortunately. Soon though.

Don't worry, everyone loves Timelys. Why else would this thread get 10,000 hits in two weeks?
Stunning books, Mr. B! Keep 'em coming!
Thanks! Let's face it. Book in and book out, Timelys had the absolute best covers! They are perfect for a forum like this. I mean, while they are okay, who really wants to look at every issue of Action from 100 - 200? (I may be opening a big can of worms - but I doubt it!) But, other than maybe #79 just about every issue of Marvel Mystery is great!

BTW, that Subby 8 is incredible. Must have skipped over that one in Gerber. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
You are very welcome! I have always been partial to the 6 and 11 myself.

This is still one of my favorite Fox covers.
Hey! I recognize that book. Did you slab the Fantastic 5? I still have the Science 2 from that collection.
Yes, 6.0! Thanks! All of those books have such great color and paper. Quite the find on your part. Thanks again.

It's a shame the guy who amassed the Allentown Collection didn't take better care of them!
I almost bought this book when Harley had it a decade ago. This book is KILLER and the scan does it no justice. NICE!

West;
Personally, I am glad you didn't pick this book up!
I ended up getting this book from Harley for a little less than 2X guide at a convention. Sold it a few years later in the big Manning auction and they was able to realize almost 7X for this book.
Strongly doubt that Richard had to pay this kind of money for the book as I believe he picked it up subsequent to the auction.
Certainly can't complain about the money although I do believe it is the still the highest graded Fox book along with Mystery Men #13 which is also a NM+ 9.6 grade. I believe all other Fox books have graded out lower than this up to this point in time.
The funny thing is that Harley also had the Allentown WW #14 at the same time. I almost took the 14 over the 13 since I thought the pages were a bit stronger. Probably should have picked up both books since Harley told me just to take the books and pay him later when I got back home. Turns out the WW #14 only graded out as a VF 8.0. Shows you what I know about grading, unless there was some damage done to the book in the interim.
I actually got it in a part cash/mostly trade deal at San Diego last year for about 4X.

A little something from the back of Subby 7 (among others)............
What my feet feel like after trying to walk the whole floor of Comic-Con!

And finally....
Now that's a cover!

I think Subby used this aircraft carrier as a surfboard later!

I know I have been posting a lot of books lately and I hope it doesn't seem like I'm trying to hi-jack this thread, but it took me four years to post and I'm making up for lost time! I just got some cool stuff back from CGC and I'm just going to start lobbing them out there. Hope you enjoy....

Thank you. This whole board deal is just a heck of alot of fun. That Famous Crimes you put on the Fox thread is awesome. And checking out Bangzoom's collection is about the best darn thing ever.

What are you guys doing up so late? There must be funny books to look at.......oh, well I guess there are. I'm with Mr. Schomburg on the Timely thing. BRING 'EM ON! Please. Pretty please.

It's been a long time coming for this one. Currently this is the highest census, but that won't last as it will soon be tasting sweet mylar.
Now, that is cool! Never had one. Add that to the list!

Science # 3
This is still one of my favorite Fox covers.
Allright, not only yours but some other boardies as well. You guys have to excuse me and enlighten me because I fail to see the attraction. It's an OK cover to me but what makes you tick about it? What about it, Rich? Ryan? Jon?
Could it be the color scheme with that awesome rainbow effect in the background? Maybe those weirdly dynamic purple plant men? Or is it the composition with everything centered on Dynamo's hand and all the colors radiating outward? Is it the art deco look and design of the building and lamppost in the background or the woman in the foreground?
Naw, it's just a freakin cool cover!
