  1. I'm a bit surprised this art was obtainable in the 70's.. but I suppose there must be an explanation.
  2. Machine Man #1 pg. 10 with Sunset Bain (by Herb Trimpe & Barry Windsor-Smith) sold for $1.9K on CC in September 2022 https://www.comicconnect.com/item/966879?tzf=1 Now on eBay for $2.8K https://www.ebay.com/itm/165898023764 (anyway, who would want Sunset's first apparition which freaked us as kids !)
  3. I suppose Batman is trying to teach a danse step to his colleagues. Cyborg is trying to learn, trying to mimicking the danse step.
  4. 2 or 3 years ago, I saw a pasted patch on a BWS page (on the main character face) and its presence wasn't mentioned in the description. The patch was visible but not obvious on a quick view. I told them and they modified quickly the decription accordingly.
  5. I was surprised to see them. I thought all TQ pages were locked in one collector's collection, but maybe it's old news that some where sold since.
  6. I discussed recently with other people around here in my country (France) who have the same problem. Thank you for the reply. I will try to figure out what is happening. Glad to see JB is still exchanging with his fans (for new drawings, well, he deserves to rest : he produced so much in his life !)
  7. ?!?! Am I the only one to see "403 Forbidden" when I validate "https://www.byrnerobotics.com/" in my browser adress field ? Maybe I'm missing something here...
  8. I think Elsewhen really helped him to "scratch a big itch" as he more or less said, so to lower this frustration. Anyway, if he really decided to go, he should have, at least, told his fans first, instead of just, as far as I can see, turn down the thing (if it is what it is, after all - his website down been maybe simply the result of a nightmarish technical issue...) If it was only the same case for Conny Valentina...
  9. The same kind of question I'm asking myself currently is : where is John Byrne ? His forum Byrne Robotics is down since a few weeks. Maybe Byrne finally realized he was indeed retired, and decided it was the time to let his forum down and go to a (paradise) island in the sun.
  10. Monthly bump. I'm open to an exchange with another sketch. You can send me your propositions (everything, except sketches by young artists and/or unknown artists) with a PM.
  11. You should visit this ancient store : http://www.editions-deesse.com/ Not many US OA pieces BUT if you want to discuss old US OA, you will be in VERY capable hands there. And you could see a gem or two on the walls (almost garanteed !)
  12. Maybe to give you one more address : what are you looking for ? European OA ? US OA ?
  13. You're right, but do you think Wise is used by many european OA dealers ? I says this because I even had, in a recent past, difficulties to make accept a Paypal payment to an (excellent) OA dealer not far from the two of us, so...
  14. As somebody who is at the other side of the ocean from you, I understand completely your concern. Everything that has already been told to you (especially extra protection and care for shipping option) are good things. Maybe I would add that you have to take care deeply of the seller reputation, because that's a subject that really concerns me for you, american buyers, since my last purchase several weeks ago... in my own country here : France ! I explain : I made a deal recently with a seller in my own country that did a catastrophic job on packaging the parcel and even tried to make money on my back sending me the parcel without insurance, even if I paid for insurance !!! In a few days, I will take the time to explain the subject more in the packaging thread (because it's a interesting example of a bad parcel) and maybe give info here in this thread about this seller, because if he was involved in a transaction with somebody here, I would be concerned in the same way you would be concerned to see an european buyer buying from a person of dubious reputation in the USA... As the guy is selling internationally all kind of original art (american, european and even OA manga art), you probably can have seen already the original art he is selling on Ebay, CAF, Catawiki... with Donnelly brothers kind of prices... and with the situation on the currency market like it is nowadays, what was not a problem a few years ago (because overseas prices were too high to be interesting for you) is now a real problem, because you can naturally be attracted now to OA located in Europe. However, I don't want to worry you : each time I made a transaction with a real professional OA dealer from Italy (the french guy I'm talking about isn't a professional), I haven't had any problem. The guys knew what they were doing, and the packaging was suited to travel both a few hundred miles or a few thousand ones. Precisely, I can highly recommend http://www.artefumetto.it/ and https://www.tavoleoriginali.net/
  15. Looking at the drawing done for the latest H.I., I begin to understand what you mean here ! Chucky fans around here ?
  16. I have seen all movies done by Marvel and DC since 20 years, and it's seems to me DC hasn't the same objective of building a coherent cinematic/tv universe like Marvel did... Many DC movies seems like almost remote islands to each other, as if the executives were always targeting each release as stand-alone attempts just to bring the most money. Based on this, you can understand the consequences for characters judged "minors" at one moment... Overall, there isn't enough care for characters, but even for situations, history, etc...
  17. I never would have thought of that. All these sketches... Jim Steranko is actually a genius !
  18. I understand your point of view, but it was not an asked commission, simply a sketch I bought from his portfolio. And, in that case, it does not matter to me if I have what is, to my eyes, a good drawing, and not a degenerated clone. LOL (I would not buy one of the common "recent" Steranko Fury face sketches for example. Most of them are degenerated clones to me).
  19. Yes, there is the money factor, but I think he sincerely tried to please his fan (lady or not) and it was a 2 day con so...
  20. I have bought in the past, at a con, a sketch done by Bob Layton prior to this con. A chance I was first in line in front of the portfolio, because a lady who was behind me, seeing the sketch I was buying, asked B.L. for the same sketch. I saw it later, on the B.L. twitter feed, and I was happy to have bought mine, because the quality level of hers was not the same, as professional as B.L. is (and quick he is) on a con.
  21. The curiosity of the week : https://www.ebay.com/itm/304656736376?hash=item46eef4e078%3Ag%3APZUAAOSwqz9jQ6ch&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338181027&customid=958&toolid=10049 I don't see why Alex Toth would have bothered to color a blantant (printed !!!) rip-off of a Byrne sketch (and change his signature)... but the mighty COA is always right ! Original sketch coming from "The Art of John Byrne" art book :
