  1. I was thinking to post in it the awfull "ALEX TOTH MARVEL X-Men Phoenix" (with a COA !) I saw on eBay this week, so the thread should go up again.
  2. Guess the young OA collectors, or the ones from the coming generation, will probably see things differently (especially with the prices for old OA going where there are going), but we cannot change ourselves and what we like... I have several "silent" pages (that's what I call them) from the last two decades and each of them have "a great design or can tell the story without the word balloons", so I completely agree.
  3. I'm in the same situation. Without letters on modern pages, to me, something is missing. It's really difficult for me to choose and immerse into modern pages the same way than in the pages from before. I'm glad to have a least one sample of work by the old masters (Workman, Klein and Orzechowski) in my collection.
  4. That's the C.C. booth, right ?
  5. You probably wanted to say "Art Thibert" or I don't get the joke.
  6. For me, it's a traced fake, but for the others here, in order to express their opinions :
  7. ... and what will be the condition, because, maybe I mistake but if I remember correctly, Watterson himself told it was difficult to find a original in good condition in all the strips that had been returned to him by the publisher.
  8. I hope you told to the future owner of the Kane unpublished cover (since it seems to have been bought) that the logo on the cover was added by Michael Finn ("I've added a mock logo so we can see how this would have looked on the newstand!")... https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1689658 ... because it was not told on your ad :
  9. Since many years, David Lloyd has graced the fans with sketches of his most famous creation, with Alan Moore, V. In the middle of the hundred of V head sketches visible on CAF, some really unique and great Lloyd sketches can be seen. Here is one ! (I pity the dog) This sketch was done at the UKCAC 1992 in London. It comes from a personal art book. The source will be indicated to the buyer. Perfect condition, but the original tiny straight marks of the internal border of the art book, at the extreme left of the drawing, are of note. Humor sketches don't fit in my OA collection, so grab this one while you can. Price : 50$ including tracked & insured postage PayPal with "Friend and Family" option (or add the PP fees) due same day as claiming below “I’ll take it.” No returns, no refunds.
  10. Mad Hatter sketch drawn by John Bolton. John Bolton did a few like this at conventions in the early 90s. See https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1191372 for another one. This sketch was done on comic board at the UKCAC 1992 in London. Price : 50$ including tracked & insured postage PayPal due same day as claiming below “I’ll take it.” No returns, no refunds.

  12. Singing... "This could be heaven art, This could be heaven art This could be heaven art for everyone"
  13. Jim Warden generally put the right prices on them... so he sells a lot of them !
  14. Ahem... Maybe you're right... however for my last purchase, I waited three months for a discount to arrive to buy the piece, which was clearly not an A-piece ! Guess I am an exception... (or maybe tight-fisted, even for second choice pieces !)
  15. Flash #5 (V2 - 1987) pages lot Sold for 408 USD on Aug 21, 2022 : https://www.ebay.com/itm/134196046952?nma=true&si=NpLx8BwLcnskATi4gUnqncsn1fM%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Already offered now, splitted, for various prices : https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_dkr=1&iconV2Request=true&_ssn=ninmm98&store_name=ninmm98&_oac=1&_nkw="guice+flash"&_sop=16 (this version of the Speed Demon is the second one - the first one appeared in 1956) Interestingly, the least interesting page of the original lot is not for sale. Maybe the seller kept it to himself ?
  16. Just saw another Ebay ad. It seems the original velum returned to the original crook : https://www.ebay.com/itm/334547408163 He probably never sold it or he got it returned (Comic Connect is even used in the ad...)
  17. The strange destiny of this velum continues... ...as what seems to be a crude copy is displayed on an Ebay seller's store : - with a Canadian location : https://www.ebay.com/itm/185559235581 - with an Australian location : https://www.ebay.com/itm/185559261241 ... but with the same "stock number"...
  18. You would have to be glad they didn't bring Servo-Guards to the con.
