  1. 1 Book Unlimited Value Dropped at UPS 1/30 Delivered/Scanned at CGC - 1/31 SFG -2/1 GEI - 2/2 G/QC - 2/5 On day 5 of an estimated 3 day turnaround. Starting to wonder what's going on. $700+ to grade a book and it's just sitting there.
  2. I'm on day 4 of an Unlimited Value magazine submission. It's been in the Grading/Quality Control stage for over 24 hours now. So it looks like there might be a hold up somewhere on the magazine side, potentially.
  3. Congrats on the big book. I feel like it should go into Grading/Quality Control and ship within a few days (maybe today or tomorrow).
  4. That is so awesome but having that much stuff would actually drive me nuts.
  5. It got a 7.0. Grader Notes crease left top of back cover finger creases right center of front cover

  7. I love all the art and signatures. It all looks awesome. But just out of curiosity, why did you ask them to bend up the book?
  8. Yeah that doesn’t give me any comfort. This was a bigger problem than one or two employees. It’s a lack of oversight and security. And we have no way of knowing what (if anything) has been done about it. They may have totally overhauled their internal procedures. But we have n way of knowing.
  9. I have an unlimited value submission there right now and I'm extremely worried. If I would have seen this news before I sent it, I probably wouldn't have. All I can think about is my book sitting on a shelf waiting to be stolen.
  10. I've worked for companies that required me to get someone to unlock a cabinet so I could get supplies like pens and paper. It's shocking if CGC blindly trusted all employees around our books. The phrase "keeping them honest" comes to mind here.
  11. Agreed. I have zero expectations of any type of public acknowledgement or explanation since there is currently litigation and anything said by CGC can be used in court. Unfortunately I think people are going to have to be patient with this one. Even though they have every right not to be.
  12. I grew up in Virginia Beach, VA. My first shop was Comics and Things on Holland Rd. I used to walk up there in the late 80s-90s and buy comics and cards. Good memories of buying all the X-Men 1 covers. 😁
  13. The most disturbing part to me is the fact that he could just walk over to a shelf and steal a customers book?? And nobody saw it? I don't know what I expected but I always assumed the facility was a little more secure than that.
  14. It seems like this has only become public because CGC is filing an injunction in court against this couple. Otherwise we may never have heard about it.
  15. That's amazing! Congrats on that accomplishment. It's hard enough to get Eastman & Laird together on one book, let alone an entire cast. Well done.
  16. Allegedly..... a husband a wife employed at CGC stole customer books and submitted them as their own. Then selling them. That's a very quick non-detailed explanation.
  17. 1 Book Unlimited Value Dropped at UPS 1/30 Delivered at CGC - 1/31 10:51am Scanned in at CGC - 1/31 SFG - Not yet This is my first UV submission. I wrote UV all over the box. I thought it would move along faster.
  18. I don't know about longboxes specifically. But I do know that delivering pallets to a residence can be tricky. It would most likely be delivered on a LTL type shipping truck that delivers to loading docks. If you can find a freight delivery service to deliver to your house you might need a forklift or something. Unless you can have them delivered to a business somewhere.
  19. That's funny.... I was just wondering about this today. I shipped an Unlimited Value submission this morning and struggled with a declared value. What if I overestimate and they charge me too much?
  20. Congrats! I was watching your first print on here and Facebook wishing I was in a position to grab it. I've sold two first prints in the past 10 years and miss them both.
  21. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help. This has not been cleaned or pressed. There are a ton of fingerprint smudges. I also see spine ticks on the top. What do you all think? I'm really anxious about this one and trying to ballpark an Unlimited Value submission cost.
  22. Can you guys help with a Mirage #2? I am almost positive it's a 2nd print because it doesn't have the small white triangle in the bottom left corner of the front cover. But Leonardo doesn't have the chat bubble saying second printing on the inside cover. So I'm confused. I always thought the white triangle was 100%. I think I need deeper expertise than mine.
  23. You know on one hand it's nice to have CGC Mike on the boards to help with issues like this. But on the other hand it kind of sucks that it takes venting on the boards publicly to get an issue the attention it deserves. Sorry this happened to you. Missing out on an Eastman signing over an error like this is a bummer.
  24. The signature won’t hurt the grade but it will get a green label. You don’t have to select the green label when submitting. They’ll assign the correct label.
