Surprisingly my last two submissions I sent this month were both delivered, loaded in the system, scheduled for grading, and billed all on the same day. I hope that becomes regular.
-
Ugh... that doesn't make me feel good about my magazine submissions.
-
It was a 6.5. I plan on buying another 1st print someday. That’s why I like to watch the price movement.
-
Interesting. I hadn't seen the Clink sale. So a 15% drop from $155k to $131k, then a tiny bump to $132k just now. It will be interesting to see if the price stabilizes in the 130k range. I've been fascinated with watching the price since I sold my 1st print in 2021.
-
It ended at $132k (that includes the buyers premium). It's a small sample size but it looks like the price is on the decline.
-
Wow, that's awesome!

These just came back from CGC this morning! Kind of bummed about #8 getting a 9.4. I've finally decided to go for a full graded set. -
Blank label.... So hot right now!

I had my 12/5 moderns flip from SFG to G/QC a few hours ago.

Thanks for taking the time to look it over. I appreciate it. -
Comic Book Insurance?
BeardedBubba replied to Alex19Kilo's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
I used Collectinsure in the past when I had a book that was pretty valuable (over $10k). It was pretty easy to get a policy. I never had to file a claim though so I can't speak on that. -

Looks like there's another 9.8 1st print up for auction on Heritage. Another chance to see where to post pandemic price is at. Any guesses? https://comics.ha.com/itm/modern-age-1980-present-/alternative-underground/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-1-mirage-studios-1984-cgc-nm-mt-98-white-pages/a/7358-91045.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515

Update incase anybody wants to know. I've decided to just sell it directly to Mycomicshop. It's been up for sale for three weeks with not much action. Their offer is higher than any offer I got (while I was accepting offers). It looks like the market may have cooled off for lower grade copies. Or maybe it's just bad timing. I can't complain though. It's still good money!

Official TMNT Speculation Thread

It seems like the market has cooled off for lower grades. I've had a CGC 6.5 listed for sale on mycomicshop for three weeks now. I've gradually lowered the price with almost no interest. I've decided to just sell it directly to Mycomicshop. I'd say hold if you don't really need the money right away. -
The housing market is just as crazy as the comic market. If I can sell my #1 it will only fund a portion of the down payment. But every little bit helps!

It's up for sale on Mycomcishop! I decided to price it on the high end and wait for offers. Thanks for all the advice guys. I hate to let it go but the money will help get my family a house. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=54847558

Thanks for all the replies. I reached out to Mycomicshop and I decided to use their service.

I am honestly not fishing for offers so please don't PM me asking for a price, etc. I'm looking for some advice because I am paralyzed by the thought of selling a collectible at this dollar amount. If you were going to sell your #1 first print, where would you sell it? I have a CGC 6.5 I'm probably going to sell soon. I have been looking around and I definitely don't trust eBay with a transaction that large. Heritage seems like the process will take months. My main concern is fraud so waiting a few months isn't necessarily a deal breaker. I also thought about a local sale (meeting at a bank, etc). But I'm not sure how to get the word out to local buyers. Has anyone here sold one and how did you do it?

Gotcha! Wasn't there a 6.0 that sold as well? I don't see that post any more. I'm trying to remember what it sold for. -

Nice! How do you look up past sales on mycomicshop? I'd like to see some of the sold prices.
