I bought part of a DC collection that was heavy Batman/Detective last week. I was psyched about the easily NM+ Harley Quinn I spotted, I was even happier when I found the other one hiding in stack of 6 random books in a bag when I got home.... score!

Going back for more this weekend, who knows what else is hiding out!

That’s how BA12 is usually found. Randomly unlike a hot established key of the time like ASM 361. I was elated when I found one for 50 cents in a mostly 80s collection filled with so much goodness :)

Saw this episode and thought, "this sucks for those two guys in back who were already there." While some keys were shown, the $30K was being optimistic on the remainder they didn't see/show on TV yet, IMHO, based on when the show was recorded.

It’s still a show. Everything is planned to some degree. That guy selling the collection did a good job of setting up his garage and dressing decent

Swap Shop Season 1 Episode 6 on Netflix.

    Swap Shop synopsis:

"Swap Shop is a reality series about citizens of Tennessee who listen to a radio show called Swap Shop that informs them of where they can buy scraps for cheap so that they can later turn them into fine pieces of art or functional properties like vehicles, instruments, or sneakers for a pretty impressive profit.

Thousands of listeners of the Southern radio show gather from all over the state to get first dibs on these highly sought-after items, but of course, only one can secure the item and become a couple of bucks richer."

Anyone seen this episode? Couldn't find a clip on YouTube. Anyone in the same neck of the woods as the store these guys (Richard and Garin from Nirvana Comics) are from? They go out to this guys garage and he's selling his Father in laws collection. Fairly interesting but I was surprised by the really lowball offer for purchasing the collection considering this was filmed in 2021 and I saw some other big books than the ones they highlighted starting with single digit FFs. I get you have to make a profit as I've sold books before but that was really insulting based on the value. Cheers.

What were those other two guys in the back doing? Seriously my heart goes out to them. Looking for a Hulk 181? I would have been a whole lot faster picking through boxes or made an offer on the entire lot. $17k/30k isn’t cheap btw. There’s a lot of man hours, space, supplies involved before even breaking even. What was insulting was the high pressure attitude. I don’t care what the situation that’s no way to talk to someone. Lol.. What I’m surprised about is how you were able to screenshot Netflix. I’ve tried that b4 to no avail.

Just refreshing this thread to say that @littledoom was right. The GPA 12-month average on this book is $2,749, just a little under twice the $1,400 price that was being debated. The 90-day average is $3,014.

    Nice prognosticating.

Yes thank you. If I had obscene money I would buy in. Right now is always the right time to buy. (Don’t wait). Buy it or wish you had. Buy it or the next guy will. Inflation continues. Right now Tosin is hot. I can see this comic having tremendous upside. If copies are selling for $50-60 they can sell for $70-80 and if they hit that price then copies can sell for $100+ And then we have a comic in lines with all the modern 2000s characters and their values. $200+ raw

Wolverine: Global Jeopardy #1, one-shot with embossed cover.  This comic originally benefited the World Wildlife Fun.  It features appearances by Ka-Zar and Namor.

I'm not bothering with a grade for this one because the spine creases on the front cover are so nasty that the cover is 'cracked', with significant ink breakage.  So I'll offer it free with any raw comic purchase.  Just mention this listing. (thumbsu

    FREE, with raw comic purchase

We already have one. It's called "Punisher War Zone", and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say it is the best Marvel movie, if not the greatest motion picture of all time.

I mean, there's this one part where Punisher punches right through a guy's face.

    HIS FACE.

I don't see Iron man punching anyone's face off.

I’d agree to that example 100% but getting a ton of rare modern books in a collection is well . . rare.  The number of collections with multiple nice books like Thor 337 or X-Men 141 are way more common and can bring in a ton of cash.  Let us know how it goes.

Yeah.. someone earlier scoffed at Malibu Sun 90s comics.. but I’d take that whole preview run in a heartbeat.. insanely rare as a full set with previews of major 90s indie characters

How about the ASMs?  238, 252, 300, etc?

I have not gone through every single box nor do I have the time to.. this is the sellers stuff and I don’t even think he’s gone through every box. And by that I mean comic by comic. He’s had them for many years and has recently started rediscovering what’s inside them. They’ve been sitting in a big room for roughly ten years.
