More information from the seller:
- The spine has creases. There is a noticeable albeit minor spine roll.
- The cover is darker one centimeter to the right of the spine but I don't think it is dirt. To me, it looks like a type of bleed-through of the colour inks of the advertisement on the inside front cover. You can see it near the right side edge of the front cover.
- There are wrinkles/reading creases in the cover one centimeter to the right of the spine.
- The bottom left corner crease breaks colour about two millimeters from the corner of the book.
- The slight smudge stain on the back cover looks like an oil stain but it does not penetrate through to the inside back cover or the pages.
- The stress lines at both staples on the front cover don't extend to the side of the spine or back cover. The spine is solid.
- There is a white line that looks like a scratch from the letter S to the plume of the knight's helmet but it does not show any indentation in the paper and does not show at all on the inside front cover. The paper cover is smooth to the touch in that area.
- The colour spot near the bottom of the C and the O in your third picture seems to be a manufacturing defect. The same could be said for the colour loss near Freddy's foot.
- He has suggested it as a 6.0/6.5.

Usually I don’t press comics with tape or adhesive on the covers for that reason. Further damage

Is this topic about 1993 Prophet #1 from Image? If so, what is the point of printing a facsimile issue when the original is still readily available for about fifty cents?
While I was at a con some guy was asking dealers for a Wildcats #1.. he needed that for his collection lol.

Promethea was a pretty fantastic series. And I'm 100% jealous of people who pull copies of #32 (or 1, or 31, for that matter) from unsuspecting dollar bins. Needless to say, that book is worth a lot more than a buck.
I've bought from this vendor b4.. before I left with the books he wanted to take a look at the cover "for the heck of it" lol.

Are these books all in bad shape?
Seems crazy that folks dont take a few minutes to go online and see what they are worth before all but giving them away.
The flea markets I go to...the sellers seem to know whats what.
None of these are in bad shape. They're mostly NM flat shapes. I was surprised. Even the FCBD/giveaways promos are unstamped. These came from the original owner who took really good care of the comics he collected. He did know the value. He has a big collection and had the books for 10-20+ years. He wanted them gone. He did keep the ASM and Batmans though

Nice one, trying to hide the best one in the corner behind everything else.
