OK, generally speaking, never had this problem on the boards before, but I have a customer who made a 1550.00 offer on 2 books, I agreed to the price, he told me that international money transfer through paypal takes a little while, then finally today tells me he doesn't have enough funds to purchase the 2 books and that he will pass.

 

What do I need to do to submit a name for probation on the forum and should I put this guy on the probation list? I hate to do it personally, as I guess he

probably legitimately doesn't have enough money, but he didn't even offer to just pick up one of the books, he just said he will pass on both.

And that's probably why someone got him to sign it. Sure, Roy Thomas is a common name, but the coincidence is a bit overwhelming.

 

Roy was an avid GA collector as well, so it simply may have been a book from his collection.

An interesting (maybe) Roy Thomas story.

In the mid-eighties he was trying to put together bound volumes of DC comics which contained on book from each title from each year. For one of the books he needed a Comic Cavalcade. He was at the San Diego Con and ran across a Comic Cavalcade which fit his criteria. The problem...it was the Church copy. He was hesitant to buy it due to the cost. The dealer (Joe Dungan) was hesitant to sell it due to Roy's intentions. But a deal was done and a Church Comic Cavalcade is now bound in Roy's collection.

Ouch, someone bound a church copy? And people get their panties in a knot when I get pedigreed books signed.

Woot, I can now honestly say I have one book that's better than BZ! My collecting days are over, going to end on a high note.

 

That's the copy BZ keeps in the magazine rack next to the toilet for reading material. He hasn't gotten around to scanning the keeper yet.
