sold the National #18...that was fast!

    listed tons more though

Just received it and wished to thank Vaughn (is there a thread for kudos?).

Good, exactly as described, but in hand it was so fragile I had to apply a little archival tape to avoid damaging it while reading.

Only problem is it leaves me wishing a better grade copy… :(

no need to leave me kudos, everyone knows I'm freaking awesome already! :D

Holy krap I have over 1900 items listed! It took me freaking forever. I'm thinking of listing my Trooper collection to draw attention to my auctions.

  2. Hello everyone. I'm looking for any original art done by Peter M. Hsu, an artist popular in the 1980s who did independant B/W comics such as Quandrant, Gauntlet, the Adventurers, Elf Warrior, and story art for mags like Warren, Creepy, Eerie, 1994, Vampirella, Vortex etc.

He does mostly B/W good girl art in an airbrush style.

Has anyone here seen any of his stuff?

Peter Hsu and his artwork sort of disappeared off the face of the earth.

Any help or info would be much appreciated.

Ah, so you're the one that bought my Elf Warrior on ebay a couple of days ago.

  5. Wow, I must have missed those posts. Corroborating testimony by two boardies... seems pretty cut and dry to me.

I should never have been on probie list to begin with...

Good thing you brought this to everyone's attention. :makepoint:

My high school classmate under twistty bought a avengers 1 raw from me which was never cgc graded. 3years later I saw him in a gym where I play basketball and he started getting violent .He claimed the book was restored so I was threatened -I had no choice but to refund him $400 even though the book was never graded. I did not want to engage in violence-in fact I could have called police. So I thought that was end of it according to him as he thought we reached and agreed on a settlement (I was of the opinion I was threatened and robbed) -that should have been the end of it then there was trash talk about me from him on the boards the very next day etc I believe I was put on probe list for that transaction. I have always paid for everything I bought and always delivered when sold. I never deal in raw books again. Thats the whole story for re-assurance.

The fact you gave your victim $400 years later as compensation shows your guilt. Not to mention Andy/October's testimony...I know you're a scamming douchenozzle. Get off these boards, you're personality type is similar to Alleybat's IMO.

  6. Ok, thanks for the responses. I am really not having good experiences when it comes to buying lately. Either its poor communication or receiving items in not as described condition and shipped poorly packaged.

I sell items and have had buyers message me about the status of their shipments to which I immediately respond. Just common courtesy in my opinion. I work, have kids , the whole nine yards but I am never that busy that I cannot respond to people who have paid me money and are expecting their merchandise in a timely manner. I don't particularly like the "pay me quickly I ship to you slowly" mentality some sellers have.

    Ok, I'm done. Thanks.

    +1. Communication is easy.

  7. I wouldn't mind knowing what folks consider the 1st of a genre is. And if there is debate, all the better.

    1st Comic:Famous Funnies 1 (?) 1933

    1st Superhero: Action 1 1938

1st female lead character?: Wonder Woman in All Star 8?

    1st Horror: Eerie 1 (?) 1947

1st Western: Crackajack Funnies #9 (?) 1939 - 1st cover and app of Red Ryder? or is it Hi Yo Silver w Lone Ranger? or something else.

1st Sci Fi: Strange Adventures 1? I doubt it, isn't one of the LB Cole classics earlier than 1950?

1st Cheesecake? (what's the first real headlights, or female suggestive cover? Phantom Lady? Junior?, a Fiction House?)

    1st Romance: Venus 1 (?)

1st or earliest classic gruesome cover? Bullet hole in the head, acid to face etc.

And any other of the major categories that folks collect.

    1st Paratrooper cover: Action 2?

A couple others that aren't as collected as they once were.

    1st photo cover:

    1st TV comic:

1st Funny Animal cover/story: Is it still Famous Funnies 1.

1st WWII cover? - this might be tough to nail down

    1st Hitler cover?

Here's a few other oddballs that might be fun to search for.

    1st Motorcycle cover

    1st Statue of Liberty cover

1st cover with a television on it

1st cover with Vampire (or Dracula), Werewolf, Mummy, Frankenstein (Classics?) Zombie, Alien

Nope, earliest comic paratrooper I've found was in Famous Funnies Series 1 #1 (1934)
