Hi Everyone, As some of you may know I've been trying to learn more about the artists behind some of the classic images on 80s and 90s videogame boxes. When I started 8 years ago there was literally nothing on the internet. Through a lot of time and effort I was able to find information on some of these artists, and with director Rob McCallum and lots of other talented people, we are putting together a documentary to finally tell the story of this art and give these incredibly talented artists their long overdue credit. Please support our kickstarter! And, if you have ideas for the film, please feel free to share. Obviously only a few can be acted on. thanks in advance! Click here:
Whoa, coolness! I caught his NES-doc on Amazon recently... good stuff!
Thanks for the link!

Hey, guys How are the Mass Effect, Killzone, Splinter Cell, Resistance Fall of Man and F.E.A.R. Franchise?
Not sure 'bout the rest, but Mass Effect 1 and 2 are ... epic, IMO. ME2 in particular, the DLC is all aces, bought every one on day one. Bioware gots lots of mah $$ that year.
ME3, no so much... multi-player is uber-keen, but I have yet to bother playing my Shepard through to conclusion.
Honestly, one of the few xBox games (ME1 & 2) I've played through multiple times... (thumbs u (thumbs u

Just picked up my first Red Sonja book. Not my usual target book but the price was nice and I always like pence variants.
Having read it, I'll be on the look out for the rest of the series.
PENCE! Nice grab...

FYI: I spotted the 'brand new' Star Trek game for xBox 360 at Target today for only $19.99?!
Was is that much of a bomb? Heck, even the Aliens: Colonial Marines game was 'on sale' for $33 and I know that was a real downer.
'Sup wit dat?

Neat pieces, Pete! I really like the additions of the nameplates to your Trading Card Game art there... those finished pieces are all very well done.

Time to bump the Conan thread.
I've been wanting this one for a while. Contains the first appearance of Red Sonya (Sonja) in "The Shadow of the Vulture." It's a historical adventure that Roy Thomas converted into a Conan story in CtB 23 and 24.
This issue is a bonus for the REH collector as it has a second story under one of Howard's pen names Patrick Ervin. This one is a Sailor Steve Costigan boxing story (with the name changed to Dennis Dorgan since Costigan was a Fiction House property).
Man you have the coolest pulps, Theagenes!
I didn't even know 'bout that one. (thumbs u

Just recently read Frederik Pohl's award-winning 1977 classic, "Gateway":
I found a sweet "Book Club" ed. HC w/ DJ at a local antique mall for a scant $3!
I've always loved that Boris Vallejo cover art, but simply never got around to actually reading it. I really liked it and have since scored the remaining "Heechee Saga" books and will get through them eventually. In the meantime, they make a fine addition to my bookshelf!

Those bomb-shelter pics are surreal...

... broke out these too recently -- Ral Partha, high-quality pewter minitures, many w/ gemstone accents:
I have about 30 in all, cost me a fortune of my part-time 1990 budget... man, what a geek!

We did, and were WELL overdue for some wall-book perusing and bargain-bin diving... and of course, that all important "Post-Event Pub Outing" did not disappoint!😁
*Full Disclosure: We are NOT Zima drinkers (notably, it held the condiments).
