  1. I think so. $99,999 is five figures (not over five figures). The lowest six-figure value is $100,000.
  2. Over five figures? The lowest value over five figures would be $100,000, so that can't possibly be right.
  3. Wow! That is definitely unique. Never stop for a hitchhiker who happens to be a skeleton in a pink shroud. It's amazing that so many people didn't know that back then.
  4. Which issue of Mr. District Attorney is it? I'm curious and want to look up the cover.
  5. I think all the oversized ones are considered magazines, at least by CGC. When I sent in my TMNT #1 for grading, it was graded as a magazine.
  6. Well, that's just evil. But I guess your devil emoji shows that you already know that.
  7. Um, is Action #1 listed by Overstreet as being worth $300 in 2020?
  8. Sounds fair. Dealers need to be able to buy for less than they sell. And people who sell to dealers probably understand that if they wanted to put in more time and effort and take a small risk, they could probably get more by selling on eBay.
  9. I think that (as lou_fine said) it really depends on the age of the comic. TMNT1's price spiked so quickly that Overstreet hasn't yet been able to react. And even in the next edition, the price will still be a bit on the low end as a hedge against volatility. But if you want to purchase or sell an older more established book, like Action Comics #1, I would imagine the guide would be quite useful.
  10. Excellent point. That hadn't even occurred to me.
  11. Mostly I just wanted to know if you thought we would be better off going by Overstreet values. And I think that was a definite yes.
  12. So your concern isn't limited just to gocollect but even GPA. Since you have to pay a subscription fee to use GPA, that makes it a much more serious problem. What about Overstreet? Do they model prices in a similar way, or do they use more hard data?
  13. No, I'm not. But it is interesting that GSX1 was also adjusted downward at the same time.
  14. It's not so much the dollar values per se as it is the fact that gocollect suddenly decided to lower them significantly when there is nothing (that I know of) in the market to indicate that values have gone down recently.
  15. I also wonder if they had a server crash and restored from an earlier version. The TMNT prices look very similar (possibly identical) to what they were two or three months ago. GSX1 prices appear to have done the same. (A couple months ago they were raised, and now they're back to about what they were before they were raised.) In any case, I'm relieved that TMNT hasn't suffered a major crash.
  16. I don't subscribe to GPA, so I get all my price estimates from gocollect.com. I noticed that sometime in the last 48 hours they substantially downgraded the prices of TMNT #1. A 9.8 has gone from $88,000 to $70,000, and a 9.6 has gone from $35,000 to $23,000. afaik there haven't been any recent sales data to support this. Any thoughts? https://comics.gocollect.com/guide/view/298985
  17. I don't think the human spine can bend like that.
  18. Her arms/boobs/head seem to be completely detached from the rest of the body!
  19. By "nice price," I thought you meant "what a great deal!" Then I figured out that you meant "what a great profit!"
  20. Even so, the way things are going, they may soon be worth thousands of dollars.
  21. I really wonder if the people who are bidding understand that there are different editions. Maybe they see a third edition and think it's an incredibly cheap TMNT #1, so they snap it up.
  22. I think he meant that the printer cut the top of the paper too low and cut off a small part of the image. But it looks like it actually got cut at an angle. There is more than enough space in the upper left, but the upper right is a bit too high. The Comics Code box is partially cropped off.
  23. $17k for an 8.0. It will be interesting to see if it sells for that price. This 8.0 is up to $14k in bidding with nine days to go.
  24. Sorting doesn't need to be perfect, but even a little makes a huge difference. If the owner spends just ten minutes a day on the dollar books tidying, sorting and rotating stock, that alone would probably be all that's necessary to have a decent $1 section. That time could also be used for bagging.
