THE BATMAN starring Robert Pattinson (2022)
Jesse-Lee replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I thought she was one of the best parts of the movie, and the best Catwoman we've seen to date. -
That is my credo for 99% of my life. This weekend is the 1%. 16 years ago was my wife's first Mother's Day as a mom - on that day, we got in a "disagreement," went to our separate corners to cool down, and I fell asleep on the couch not long after. When I woke up, she was mowing the lawn for the first time ever since we'd been together. From that day on, I've done whatever the heck she wants on Mother's Day.

Did I ever tell you about the time Jim Shooter took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off looking for a bar and we can’t find one. Finally, Shooter takes me into a vacant lot and says, "Here we are." Well, we sat there for a year and a half. Sure enough, someone constructed a bar around us. Well, the day they opened it, we ordered a shot, drank it, and then burnt the place to the ground. Shooter yelled over the roar of the flames, "Always leave things the way you found them!"

Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay
Jesse-Lee replied to fastballspecial's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
I love that cover a lot, but I refused to pay crazy money. I got a 2nd print 9.6 for $150, and a month or two later I was at a one-day show and a guy had a 2nd print raw (maybe an 8.5 to 9.0 on the wall for something like $40 (which actually isn't a bad price for a decent copy). I bought a bunch of other books from his bins, and I asked if he'd do $25 on that one too since I bought a lot, and he said, "sure, why not?" All three prints on that book look the exact same, and it's not a "key" for any reason but the cover. I'll buy later printings all day on that one for cheap. -
One of my LCSs has a 50% off back issue sale tomorrow (and they don't sort; I've made good money off those boxes), plus the FCBD copies. And I have a Mother's Day gathering with my wife's family during the same time as their operating hours...

Also, I might go looking for the Han Solo and Savage Spidey covers just because they look cool.
-
This has no basis in anything and is pure speculation/wishful thinking, but the timing would be right for the potential to see Black Panther 3 in these packs...

Looks like he signed it on the cover. Sorry, couldn't help myself on the dad joke. I'm actually curious why he signed it also.

There were definitely a couple of these in the movie for me, but again, I'm chalking it up to Sam Raimi. I did feel like some of the performances were a bit stilted in this one, and I don't know what to attribute that to. Elizabeth Olsen was really, really good - maybe that's why I felt like others paled in comparison. But the MCU typically has fairly decent acting, and there were times in this movie where some of the performances grated on me.
-
I know this sounds unbelievable, but I actually didn't know Raimi was the director as I was going into this movie - I've tried as much as possible to stay away from anything related to the movie - knowing he directed it wouldn't have spoiled anything for me, but I just didn't realize it since I didn't watch or read anything else about it. Then I saw And I thought, "ah, Raimi directed this?"
-
Same for me - I like comic relief, but Raimi can't help himself to go super goofy in some instances, like most of his movies.

I've gone on record before saying I don't love sigs/sketches on key books - however, even I have to admit that this is really, really cool-looking, congrats!

These are the type of shenanigans that are making Paypal a nightmare for honest sellers. I recently bought a book from a seller and he told me that Paypal is holding the funds until he can prove the book is legit, show proof of ownership, etc. I was naive and put the item description in the notes as requested, but either way, the seller shouldn't have to jump through multiple hoops to get their money; but it's dishonest buyers like this that ruin the process for everyone. I appreciate that Paypal is trying to protect buyers, but when they go too far it ruins the entire purpose of a payment gateway. Not to mention that they had no issue taking my money right away, yet holding it until the seller can meet their demands. I have no doubt that (alleged, to be fair I guess) scammers like this are the issue. Good luck to the OP if all this is true as presented.
