  1. I got lucky and won a run of Batman 361-366 for $60 last year on eBay - I had been on the hunt for this issue at the time.
  2. ManBat vs Batman #1 NM- $5 Legends of the Dark Claw #1 NM- $5 Two more (unless you plan to post more - then this probably won't be my last... ) Do these three most recent takes - (Batman 563, ManBat vs Batman and Legends of the Dark Claw) - also qualify for the 20%? Is it multiples of 3? - Thanks!
  3. Deadpool Max #1-10,12 VF/NM set $45 (#5 NM-) Batman: Dark Knight Returns #3 VF/NM (1st print) $10 Joker’s Last Laugh #1 & 2 NM set $10 @ 20% off
  4. If you got a problem with Canada anthropomorphic dogs, well then you got a problem with me. And I suggest you let that one marinate bud.
  5. That's funny - for me I can never seem to find the Magneto cover! And I seem to find the deluxe almost more than the others for some reason.
  6. I still find the deluxe version at shows and shops a lot for $2-3, and I always pick it up for that if it's in great shape. Just found one at a show last week for $2.
  7. I only own one Golden Age comic - not sure if I'll buy more; my collecting goals lie elsewhere - but I always wanted an issue of Detective Comics prior to issue 100 (a double-digit issue is how I think of it), and I didn't think it was feasible. Turns out some lower grade copies aren't ridiculously out of reach. Here's my one, and I love it, it's staying in the collection until I'm gone:
  8. It would have to be pre-1954 if that's the case, correct? Because of the CCA? And based on what @THE_BEYONDER posted, which sounds like the same story, Bruce Alexander was born in 1939. He could have been reading a back issue I suppose, but you could potentially narrow it down to Batman stories from say 1944-1953 (going off of the idea of a "small kid" and figuring reading age for a comic would be maybe starting at 5 years old - kind of young, but you have to forma a starting point somewhere).
  9. Ah, I couldn't put my finger on what it reminded me of! It also has kind of a stylized Predator vibe...
  10. Imagine trying to summon a cool demon to do your bidding, and instead you just get tea-bagged.
  11. That's a great score! I can usually resist - when I miss the boat, I'm typically ok with it; I've found plenty of deals in my collecting life to make up for my misses. But I kept thinking about the climb that UF4 made, when people were like, "it has to come back to Earth at some point," but it kept going up. I felt like $29 was palatable enough to buy in without much risk just in case it really does hit big.
  12. I told myself I would not FOMO this book. Then I bought a copy for $29 and chastised myself for being dumb because I figured I bought at the peak and it would be back to a $15-20 book this week. Maybe I got lucky - guess I'll hold it for a while and see if it continues to rise.
  13. That's why I always lose large chunks of time whenever I hear "Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?"
  14. I loved the Batman movie, but to your point, I was in 6th grade in 1989. I loved everything about it back then - the hype, the soundtrack (I still have songs from the soundtrack on my regular driving playlist), and even the casting. Kim Basinger was hot and smart, Jack Nicholson was funny but scary with a nice touch of pomposity. And Michael Keaton was a smart-aleck, with just enough darkness behind the eyes that made him seem dangerous (again, at least to a 12-year-old). I'll never not look on that movie without fondness. I would love to see a live-action DKR adaptation with Keaton and Nicholson reprising their roles. It might be a little late with Nicholson, but I think they could pull it off with some movie magic. But now that we better know these actors' ranges - how dark they can be, how much more you can be cinematic with "superhero" movies, etc. - I think it would be an intriguing choice.
  15. Getting tired of the zero accountability for buyers on eBay - I've had multiple recent non-payments, and these were on offers, so they actually had to put in effort to "buy" the item. Now I have another one where they did a buy it now, paid, and now requested a cancellation. Here's the buyer username: surws-mjad1fhzwo It used to be, back in the day, you could leave negative feedback for buyers. It's ridiculous that people can waste time and pull down listings by "buying" an item with no intent to pay, and then face no consequences.
  16. Here's my copy - this issue has one of my favorite stories, "The Gourmet" by Bernie Wrightson:
  17. I keep starting and stopping "House of Leaves" by Mark Z Danielweski. I keep getting sidetracked, but I like the first 50 pages so far... I also just read The Scavenger's Guide to Haute Cuisine by Steve Rinella - if you enjoy cooking, hunting, eating game, etc., it's a really interesting read and Rinella's narrative style is great. Non-fiction; the author finds a 100-year-old cookbook and sets out to find all the strange ingredients by hunting and gathering so he can cook an epic multi-course meal from the cookbook. My neighbor recently got to do a bear hunt and shared some of the meat with us, and I made an awesome bear stew based on one of Rinella's recipes.
  18. FWIW, the first appearance of Doom 2099 is listed as this book (not that anyone asked - but I'm the guy who also can't help but point out that Viggo Mortenson actually broke his foot in that scene in Lord of the Rings and his cry of pain is real. Basically, I like to point out useless stuff that nobody asked about. Kinda cool cover though. Pulled one of these out of a $2 bin at a show last year):
  19. Still one of my favorite books, and still way cheap, even in higher grades than this one. Not a mega key, but in my opinion it's a cool book to own and another example of the "DC Discount" compared to Marvel:
