  1. Sometimes being a Bat-fan is ok because there are still deals on keys compared to the hot Marvel books. And there are still deals available on eBay, but you do have to hunt a ton (which is actually part of the fun for me). Buying lots you can end up with a lot of filler issues, but depending on the lot price you can make it worth it with 1-2 key books and the filler is gravy you can sell off cheap. Got a couple of nice recent wins that just came in: Paid $21.50 for a 10-book lot ($2.15 a book), including Batman 626, 628, 658, 664, 666, 667, 668, 670, 671, 673. Apparently 664 is getting spec'd on because of a Punchline connection (I'm not caught up...). Batman 666 is first Damian Wayne as Batman and first Professor Pyg. Paid $12 for a Detective run of 846-852 - 850 is the first Gotham City Sirens And I won a 130-issue lot of Batman for an average of $1.36 an issue. Lot of filler and a bunch of 7.5-9.0 stuff throughout this one, but a couple of key gems and a bunch of lesser issues that are still good story runs or minor-minor "keys" (Jason Todd's origin in Batman 408 for example). The pics were tough to judge by and I took a chance, but I'm glad I did because of at least one book in particular... I'm planning on keeping around 50 issues and getting rid of the rest - if you need 90s Batman filler issues or story run issues, let me know. These are mid-grade unfortunately, but nice to have the set raw I suppose. Might end up selling these. First appearance of Renee Montoya 608 has some spine issues unfortunately, but cool that it's a newsstand. The whole Hush run was in the lot, and luckily much higher grade than this issue. First appearance of Tommy Elliot (Hush) First appearance of Jason Todd as the Red Hood
  2. TMNT 47: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144000139410?hash=item218713c092:g:qJQAAOSwae9gbJNl
  3. As a Batman fan, most bronze-modern Batman keys. I hope. If DC could figure out their extended universe like Marvel did, there are a lot of books that are fairly cheap right now with a lot of room to grow...
  4. Yeah, I went back and forth a bit with myself over the crease, but knowing that I've really wanted a Shelly Moldoff art/Bill Finger story issue for a while, specifically with Ace on the cover, I bit the bullet. They had it listed at $28 and we ended up at $23. I've seen more beat up copies sell for more than that, so I can live with it. Thanks all!
  5. Pretty clean copy overall, just wondering where it might grade, especially with that unfortunate cover crease. Either way, this is a keeper for me, and I think I did ok on price...
  6. Thrilled to have gotten this one - I've wanted a Shelly Moldoff/Ace the Bat-Hound cover for a while (Ace reminds me of my pup, Ellie), and found one with a good price. Great Bill Finger story too, including Bat-Mite! Also picked up another book with a cover I love - Detective 566
  7. First in the thread wins. No probation or HOSers. Buyer pays actual shipping, happy to work with you to get a good shipping cost. Pay by Paypal, no international buyers (sorry) and no returns. I don't have a Kudos thread, but I have had a few transactions on the board - I'm usually a buyer, but have a few things I want to start to sell. Selling a few brand-new-in-box Star Wars Force Link ships and sets, and figured I'd bring them to the boards first before going to eBay. If you want to see additional photos of anything, let me know. Open to reasonable offers. Kylo Ren's Tie Silencer - $40 First Order Special Forces Tie Fighter - note that the box is a little crushed at the top - $25 Solo Force Link 2.0 Millennium Falcon - $15 Force Link Starter Set with Kylo Ren - $5 Rathtar with Bala-Tik - box shows some shelf wear - $8 Imperial Probe Droid with Darth Vader - $20
  8. When I saw this book, two things ran through my mind: 1 - God, I want that book; and 2 - I am in the way wrong profession. Good luck with the sale!
  9. I just had to say, I think this copy looks really cool like this - like, you can see how well-read and well loved it is/was. I know a lot of times we get caught up in highest grades and whatnot, and it's cool to see a book like this in read and worn condition. Nice one!
  10. I have absolutely sworn at my computer in snipe situations when I thought I had an auction won.
  11. Yeah, I've had to talk myself off of some buying ledges - FOMO is real, and it can make you want to pull the trigger on a buy even when your gut is telling you no. There have been times where I'll think, "am I really going to let an extra $20 or whatever keep me from buying this book?" but the reality is that adds up and turns a deal into a dumb buy that doesn't fit your collection and you just start chasing. So I try to take the feeling out of it as much as possible.
  12. As a night owl (family is in bed by 10, I'm usually up until at least midnight, if not 1 a.m.), I scan eBay a lot while I watch movies or shows. There are deals to be found, but it takes a ton of digging/searching. Maybe not worth the amount of digging to most, but to me it's fun, just like digging in physical long boxes at shows and shops. I agree that most people who "know" comics on there are now driving prices way up because they know people will blindly pay it, and some of the people who don't know comics are even worse, because they think "old comic" equals $100 starting price regardless. But every now and then you find a diamond in the rough, and that's enough to keep me digging for now...
  13. It was $6,650 - you can view it on eBay by going to the original listing and viewing the source code.
  14. Ant-man, cuz the duck's got no pants, man! I don't know, that was terrible. Ant-man wins.
  15. J-J-J-John Blaze Ja-Ja-ah-John Bla-Blaze J-Ja-J-Ja, John Blaze Johnny Blaze ain't a damn thing changed Ghost Rider wins
  16. Jerry Lewis played a version of Sad Sack in the 1957 movie The Sad Sack, based on Sgt. George Baker's original Sad Sack comic strips. Here, we see Batman and the Boy Wonder meeting Jerry Lewis during a climb up a steep wall: Batman seems wholly dismissive of Lewis, probably because he knows he can beat the Sad Sack hands down. Batman wins.
  17. Hmm, you're right, I missed that - I'll pull the book back out and take a closer look, thanks!
  18. Scored this in a random lot buy (I know it's not unknown or anything, but still cool to find it).
