  1. What can I say about John that hasn't already been said? Just a pleasure to deal with, the books are always as described (and usually better than described). I always look forward to John's sales threads - well, kind of, I always find myself spending too much... Thanks John!
  2. Couldn't be happier - some really cool books at great prices, and all shipped fast and in bulletproof packing. The books were exactly in the condition described too, thank you!!
  3. Picked this up from @John R's recent sale (thanks John!), which means I'm now only 5 issues away from completing my Vol. 1 run (#1 is a 4th print, #2 is a 3rd print and Raphael is a 2nd print). Once I complete the run, I'll probably try to upgrade the #2 to at least a 2nd print and the Raphael to a 1st. It's been a fun run to collect so far, lots of great places and prices (and some not-so-great) that I've found my books!
  4. Picked this up for $5 at a show. Low grade, but I always loved this cover:
  5. Selling one lot - here are the rules: No naughty listers Shipping in the US is $15 for Priority Mail service with insurance No returns Payment by PayPal in the thread wins over any PM negotiations or offers in progress.
  6. Sorry, one more post (lot of pickups this week between the shows and eBay). Story is here if you're interested:
  7. Story time (sorry, long post incoming): Last week, I lucked out on finding 3 lots on eBay all on the same day, within about 2 hours of each other. All 3 sales had similar characteristics, in that their titles were somewhat incomplete (as it pertained to key books in the lots), as were the photos. I was super happy to come away winning all 3 lots - there was a bit of a leap of faith involved in 2 of 3, but I'm pleased to say it paid off. The first lot was listed as a "Batman 379-391 13-book lot," and had this photo as the main (all of the other photos were basically just different angles of this stack): It was listed at a $40 BIN with $5 shipping. I could see the 386 poking out, and the books looked in decent shape, so I jumped at it. Here they are: The second lot was from the same seller as the lot above, and was listed as "Batman 408-474 (missing 472)" with annuals and "extras" - a 79 book lot total. This was the main pic, and all the other photos were of the annuals and extras, no additional photos of the core books aside from this pic of the stack: This one was an auction with a $100 starting bid and $13 shipping. I decided to take the chance and bid, and I was the sole bidder. All 79 books showed up as promised, here are some of the highlights: Almost all of the Batman books had prices on the bags - I'm not sure if someone just went through and put prices on their own collection, or if this was some sort of store liquidation or what - here are a couple of examples from before I re-bagged them: And finally, the last lot (different seller) was listed as "Venom 1-24 plus annual complete series 2018 NM." This was the main photo, and there was one other photo that was basically just this photo over again but with the ashtray cropped out: This one had a starting bid of $20 with $13 shipping. I was skeptical of it, but I ended up bidding and winning the auction for $44. It came in the mail yesterday. There was a faint cigarette smell to them, but even after just one day of airing out, it's almost completely gone: I was really excited to find all this - I ended up with 117 books total for about $215, with a couple of home run books in there. There are still some great hunts on eBay!
  8. Yes, #6 is generally considered the first full appearance of the Court of Owls. #2 is the first appearance of Talon, and #3-5 are apparently considered cameo appearances of the Court of Owls.
  9. Picked up these two at a show this weekend for $10 each. With issue #48, that leaves only seven issues I need to complete the run, and one of those (#14) is currently on its way to me in the mail. I already have a fairly high-grade #62, but even with the condition issues this one has, I couldn't pass it up for only $10 - it can be tough to find period, regardless of condition.
  10. Pulled this out of a $2 bin at a show this weekend. Anecdotally, I went to two different shows this weekend and dug through a lot of $2-$5 bins, and this was the single DCU logo book I came across...
  11. Had a free weekend and was lucky enough to go to 2 shows, one Saturday and one Sunday. My goal was to focus on hunting in the $2-5 bins, and I found some nice stuff - a lot of 6-for-$10, 5-for-$20 deals, etc. too. Everything I bought came out of the bargain boxes, except for the 2 TMNT books - I paid $10 apiece for those. And I picked these up on the boards, thanks @ft88!
  12. You can create a YouTube account and upload them there to link here - if you don't want the videos floating around YouTube, you can upload them as private so they don't show up for anyone who doesn't have the link, but it'll still let you share/embed your own videos.
  13. I'll be at the New Berlin Comicverse show tomorrow - look for the guy in the black hoodie and grey Under Armor baseball cap. My usual MO is to get in at open and get out as quickly as I either burn through my budget or my interest though, so no worries if we don't cross paths!
  14. I agree, I pulled some fun stuff from $2 through $5 boxes today - in fact, those were all I bought, no "big" books today. Found a Batman 619 newsstand that gets me a step closer to having the full Hush run in newsstand - it's not a crazy pricey book or anything, but I was happy to find it for $5, and "in the wild;" the hunt is the best part of a con! Heading to New Berlin, Wis. tomorrow for another show there.
  15. Closing this down in 24 hours - open to offers. Thanks!
  16. Still a Heck of a guy though! I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.
  17. Sorry I missed everyone (except @jsilverjanet - nice to meet you!) - show was packed!
  18. Donating to charity will devalue it, but putting it in a landfill is all good? What kind of backward... I'd take a crate or two, they'd be cool targets...
  19. I'm good, but thanks - thinking I might need to treat myself to a McD breakfast for the drive... Edit - Ok, I bought my ticket, I'm committed. See you there!
  20. I should just buy my ticket now to get early access and force myself to go...
