  1. I’m actually trying to complete a CGC 9.5 skyridge set, I’d be interested in the entire bottom row here. Let me know if you’d be open to discussing a price point for a few of these via direct message. If you’d rather just auction on PWCC or eBay just let me know so I know where and when to look for these lol. proof:
  2. I really hope you paid for sub-grades on such high end cards in such good condition! Subgrades will tell you why they got the grade they got as well.
  3. I think this is the first pre-2008 (so anything from WOTC & early ex era) non-Japanese CGC 10 I've seen. Do not let this out of your possession, ever lol.
  4. CGC - Reconsider going back to the long shoe method of returning bulk (slabs stacked against one another snug in the long box). The new process of shipping the slabs with the individual cardboard slits provides 0 protection for the slabs and they are dinging each other up on their way back to us. Some of my slabs have blunt force dings, others have scratches, it's a mess. Fortunately this go around I got abysmal grades on my entire Bulk submission so there's no need to re-holder any as I will just be selling these on PWCC, but going forward I'd like my slabs to be delivered in the pristine condition I'm accustomed to. Thanks,
  5. My bulk received 1/11 is still showing grading/quality control but also shows as shipped. Anyone have this happen to them?
  6. Hey man, just want to say it’s really cool that you enjoy this nuanced set this much and have been able to find so much of it. It’s clear you’re very passionate about collecting and you enjoy the journey which is what it’s all about, and I’m sure you’re far from finished! I appreciate you giving us a look into what you’ve been able to amass. I am equally as passionate about early ex era, but mostly the reverse (stamp) holos, regular holos, ex’s, and gold stars. I buy way, way too much of it and thankfully my day job pays me enough money to support my early ex-era Pokémon polydipsia. Keep hunting my dude, I know these aren’t easy to find that’s for sure. I also know the chase and what it’s like to want it all, and that ‘collector rush’. Hard to put into words but you pick up what I’m putting down. It’s a fun ride man. Catch ‘em all.
  7. Did either PSA or BGS explicitly state they will be out only the next month or are people seeing what they want to see in these cleverly worded shutdown announcements? And isn't PSA going to trickle in tiers over time, starting with their $150/card Express tier? Also, doesn't the Magic community heavily favor BGS? That could definitely impact CGC.
  8. https://www.beckett.com/news/beckett-announces-plans-for-2021-national/ Starting June 7th: Beckett will suspend all grading submissions other than our Premium Level. All orders that are submitted under the Express, Standard, and Economy level will be returned to the customer, ungraded. The reason behind this decision is simply to allow us to focus on the growing backlog we have and to get as many cards back to customers as possible, before the National. This is not ideal for anyone but something our competition has done. We now feel this is right the move for Beckett. Again, this is going to be temporary and something we believe will improve our availability for the remainder of 2021 and into 2022. Is CGC next? What a wild industry card grading is.
  9. Same thing happened to me, and I still have no idea when I’m getting my shipment and no one can tell me. I hate card grading.
  10. Is there a minimum # of Express cards required in order to mark the package "EX" so that your package is opened sooner? Or can people just send in literally 1 Express card with a bunch of Bulk and then cut the line by 2 nearly months? Assuming the minimum is 1 Express card, I see opportunity here to raise that minimum # to at least 5 Express cards per order in order to cut the package opening line, and using that extra revenue to improve their operation, i.e. hiring additional mailroom staff etc. This of course assumes people are pounding this loophole, which in the ruthless rat race known as card grading, I assume people 100% are lol.
  11. Yeah it's all good, I've had some stuff come back sooner than others in some previous submissions. It's all good, we all know CGC is slammed and we'll keep on sending cards in, and just like any other loyal and entitled customer in any industry, we're going to bicker when things deviate slightly from our extremely high expectations.
  12. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than seeing that you got your 765 submissions returned in hand when my 1 Standard submission (21 cards) that was literally received before yours is still in grading/quality control. LITERALLY. NOTHING. GIVES. ME. GREATER. PLEASURE.
  13. Yeah I hate all of this. What a horribly anxiety inducing thing to put into collectors' heads, especially when packages are now taking 2 months to open. Does anyone know if FedEx or UPS viable options to get cards to CGC? Do either of them leverage the Sarasota USPS as a drop-off for USPS to make the final mile delivery? Just seeing if there's a way to avoid USPS altogether as I know they sometimes partner on parts of routes.
  14. I really struggle to find any actual value these middlemen services provide to customers. Seems like the only value being gained in the entire charade is them making a few cents on each card they aggregate and send off. Why send your cards in, to be bundled with other people’s cards, resulting in delays in shipping to CGC/PSA, and adding additional return time in the whole process? And don’t tell me they get special treatment blah blah I’ve actually seen plenty of examples showing the exact opposite — that these “middlemen services” get put at the back of the line, whenever their cards show up, which could be literal weeks after you think they did as they have to aggregate all kinds of customers’ cards, which again... who is benefiting here?!?
  15. Edit: I don't think they're going back to charging up front, I think it means that you agree to pay the full amount of the Submission at the time of clicking "submit", and this gives them the ability to charge someone up front if they have a history of payment issues etc. At least I think that's what this means. @PaulS. can you confirm? With TAT's continually increasing I just can't understand a scenario where it'd be appropriate to revert to the old 'pay up front' model for everyone who submits. Also, @PaulS. while I have you.... can I use the CGC scans of my slabs to sell on Ebay? I know the images are copyrighted, but can I credit the actual image to CGC and maybe add a watermark saying copyright CGC or something? Taking good pics of slabs is such a timesuck and it'd be nice to just use the scans already available via cert lookup!
  16. Okay so what does this mean? Are they going back to the old method or......?
  17. Nope, two 9’s means it’s a 9 as they are the lowest grade and there’s two of them. If one of the 9’s were a 9.5 then the card would be a 9.5 overall.
  18. Anyone else have stuff just stuck on “grading / quality control” for way longer than normal lately? standard sub received 03/23 has been in the grading stage for what feels like weeks now.
  19. When you have 2 submissions stuck in "Grading/Quality Control" and you hope they push through today so you can see your grades and not have to wait till next week.
