That is an incredible selection of JLA/BB's in one auction that I have ever seen :o

Not many people out there that can compete for JLA #1 or BB #28...but there is so much stuff it's mind-boggling...

Can we all leave some leftovers for me?? :wishluck:

    Like, say a JLA #6 in 9.4....

I'll even take the BB #29 in only 9.0 :insane:

  2. I was thinking you guys should go for this!

Any predictions on what it will go for?

$25k. will be interesting to see which goes for more the jla #1 or the b&b #28.

I agree with the $25K mark. I would think the JLA #1 would go for more since it is the highest graded and a 9.4 rather than a 9.2....predict 30K for the JLA 1

  3. I considered that too, but the numbers don't seem to jibe.

    New Adds ***************** Heritage Listings

    #4 - 9.4*************************#4 - 9.2

    #6 - 9.4*************************#5 - 9.2

    #7 - 9.0*************************#7 - 8.0

    #9 - 9.6*************************#8 - 9.4

    #10- 9.4************************#10- 9.4

    #11- 9.6************************#11- 9.6

If he's selling the new additions, where's the #4 9.4? Plus the blurb "copy is tied for the highest-graded copy of #4 to date in CGC's census" tells us these are from someone else's set, right? Or did he make 2 separate subs with one #4 in each...?

    Only selling his dupe under-copies? Explain #10 & #11?

I'm not saying Toth isn't the owner of the new Top Dogs, just that the info provided is pointing away from that.

My guess is we're witnessing the beginning of the JLA CGC era. It's about frickin' time! Maybe now I can complete my set!!!!!!!!

PS: Suh-weet books David. :tip o the hat: icon.

any chance the census has some boo boos? when was this updated from? my #7 came back 9.2- is that reflected from the last update? from your data, it doesn't seem to be.

    :o

Too many books to choose from... :pullhair:

I was hoping to save up some money for JLA #1 or BB #28...the movie will

probably get high-grade copies of these to show up for auction...

    *note: not tth2 high-grade, but spookley 9.0ish high-grade

  4. I considered that too, but the numbers don't seem to jibe.

  5. Ewwwwwwww!! Yuck!! What were Borock & Co smoking when they gave this book a gift grade like that?

Blech!! I can barely look at the darn thing. It's making me ill.

I'd be embarassed to be seen with that monstrosity, let alone own it!

They probably meant to give it a 4.9, but someone there is dyslexic?

    It's disgusting...just horrible...uh, it makes me wanna puke...yeah, that's it....

    Anybody buying any of this?

    Anyone? :wishluck:

    Rick

I looked at the book again, and I have to agree with Rick...all the visible damages on the front cover----at best it is a 8.5

Why anyone would pay more than $6000 for that is beyond me...

It is also such an over-rated book...4th appearance of the JLA...how much is Amazing Spiderman #3...

    yes, it's a piece of garbage... :/

  6. This is the second High-Grade original owner JLA collection to come to market from Heritage....(ie: Fantastic Frank before this one)

How many of these collections do you think are out there? hm

As the baby-boomers are retiring...what is going to be released to the public...

I think there are probably 20 or more copies of JLA #1 in near-mint still out there

somewhere :insane: ...so fair market value for this one is probably only $10K

Any predictions on what this will sell for?

  7.

paging tim- is this the copy that used to be a 9.2?

The e-mail I got from Heritage states that this is from an original owner collection...David Toth.....there is a new CGC 9.4 on the census so this

    must be it...

    Also on auction in May....

    JLA #4 CGC 9.2

    JLA #5 CGC 9.2

    JLA #8 CGC 9.4

    JLA #21 CGC 9.0

    JLA #22 CGC 9.2

    :o

  8. i would have bid on the #42 if i hadn't just picked up a 9.4 i paid nearly the same amount for- oops. i was close on the #73 but not the #76. is it just me or do the books you bid on always seem to get more action than the ones you don't? i'd say silver DC were generally softish but not the books I was going after.

I lost out on the #76 (underbidder once again)...I don't think I have won a C-link auction for several months now...as for the #42, I didn't bid (because my cut-off is off-white pages) but it sold for a lot less than I thought it would...the previous one in 9.6 sold for just under $1000....and yes...it seems the ones I bid for are getting very aggressive bidding :frustrated:
