I popped in to the forums for the first time just to see if anyone was asking this very thing haha

I had an Express (and also several Economy), delivered 2/16 & Received 2/17. No other movement on the express one yet, hoping to get charged soon so I don't forget and spend the money elsewhere.

They changed policy on the 16th and you will not get charged until the very end. Most folks didn't want to loan CGC money for a few weeks, but I feel your comment, too. I'm having to time a lot of things to make sure it's available when the time comes! lol

Also, someone in another thread said they were still doing mail from like, 2/12 or something. I think they got crushed with deliveries right before they hiked prices and we're feeling the effects of that because we were right after.

But its not. 30 days when u submit and then its passed over 100 days, would not be a close estimate. Be honest to urself. Seems like they are jus throwing out a number and thats it

They are fine tuning the numbers based on the number of cards they have in the queue. More came in than they could get out at those estimated dates, so now they can't get the cards out fast enough to satisfy that initial estimate. It's math. Linear math, at that. They can do 'x' cards in 'x' time. You can increase capacity, but not quickly. This isn't McDonald's. It sucks that you are in the batch that ended up seeing the surge, but the mechanics of this are clear and you seem to be extremely obtuse on what could be done about it. From a cust sat standpoint, CGC doesn't have a lot of options here. They can raise the price some more, if you'd like. I would imagine in order to meet your expectation on the TaT, they probably need to triple the prices. Maybe more. They can't just hire graders and add machinery to sonic weld more slabs on the fly.

We agree to disagree, you sound like the biggest suck - up ever xD Anyone with a brain would read what he read above and his example about the car shop estimating a car being 50 dollars and it being 300 dollars. That is a perfect example of what is happening. It is a horrible look for someone doing their first submission like myself. And you say I use these words but I do know what the words I say mean. I wonder at times if you actually do. Hopefully one day you can take your time to help people instead of trolling/baiting people in posts. This is my last post because I am done talking to a wall.

I think the difference is that you have 100's of options of where to take your car and...maybe 3 options for card grading. If all of the sudden cars started breaking down and needing service at an escalating pace for months, and the barriers of entry for new car repair was so hard as to make it impossible for new entrants, then you'd have a good comparison. People would definitely be big mad, but it would be a far different problem. It's a matter of competition, barriers of entry, and supply/demand economics.

Hey Ron C.  Any updates of your csg card grading?(thumbsu

The status is still borked on the page; it's blank! That said, something is happening, because I got the billing invoice this afternoon. I imagine they are working through the initial jitters with the program. I've been refreshing the page a lot hoping to get a sneak peak at my grades, lol.

Any idea what kind of resale values CSG graded cards may have compared to PSA and BGS, at least in the beginning? And will they eventually become close to on par with both companies?

I tried to look around last night on eBay for some sales, but couldn't find any at all. If it's like the TCG side, the market will be soft initially, I imagine.

Things are about to get a lot worse. PSA doubled prices, and the general consensus from what I've seen is CGC is the best alternative.

I really, really hope CGC can flex their operation to absorb some of this new demand in stride. Time will tell.

I think in hindsight, CGC probably should have gone a little higher on prices (wouldn't be surprised to see this). Part of PSA's reasoning is to tamp down on the bulk. At least the sports card bulk will hit a different office than the TCG.

  7. How do you mean? Black Widow is an SGC, which just doesn't sell Marvel like PSA 10s. They are known more for sports cards and are kinda on the slide (IMO) these days. The middle card is nice, but it's Omega Red from the 96 set. Not desirable to many collectors; probably sold solely because it's a 10. That third one is the big draw in every set, in a 10 with low population, and sold through PWCC. They know how to market their cards and their sales. I wouldn't call any of that gambling, other than whoever sending that Spider-Man doing it before too many of them were graded.
