  1. If this is indeed true, FF books will probably tank more
  2. Actually that was the copy I was referring to . Definitely one of the ugliest 4.5's I've ever seen in this grade!
  3. Yup I was gonna post that the copy looks horrendous and thus suffered a low sale. Yesterday there was another X-Men 1 CGC 3.0 I think that ended at CL for cheap too. Again due to the poor eye appeal the book has.
  4. Hard to tell exactly condition of the FF1 but there seems to be some sort of staining at the top edge and what seems to be a vertical creased going down next to the spine? Might be more like a mid grade 5.0-6.0 copy it seems. I could be wrong.
  5. Not only is the slab fake, but the book too!
  6. uh that spoiler you showed . Why would anyone do that!?
  7. Definitely take a 2nd good look next time you guys buy slabbed books. I have to get that ingrained in my brain moving forward.
  8. Here's the real Hulk #1 in that same serial number sold in Heritage
  9. Again, I told him that the label is way off due to the font of the text. The book might also be a fake/replica. The CGC serial number is real showing that the book was graded in 2018 as a 9.0.
  10. Another original owner collection has surfaced! This is very exciting indeed Those who think that there are no more new collections to be had are wrong. There will be more coming. Best of luck to you and your family when you auction these treasures! Your dad definitely did very well keeping these in excellent condition it seems and with the proper care. Looking forward to any updates with the grades and where they will be auctioned at.
  11. Buy with confidence from Deadlift Collectibles. We had a huge transaction that was recently completed and everything went smoothly. Great guy to work with! Good luck with the sale Michael!
  12. I was fortunate and lucky enough to have been invited to see a special screening of this movie last night at Warner Bros Studio. I had high expectations that this movie will be great, fun and a huge success. Well guess what, it met all those expectations! I think this movie is probably a top 3 DC movie of all time. From the time the movie started until it ended, I just had a huge smile on my face! It hit every single emotion in my body. It was action packed, great storyline introducing the multiverse DC style, had a lot of humor and funny moments which were well done and not corny at all, and had a big moment for me towards the end where I almost teared up. A few people I saw in the theater were likely tearing up a bit judging by how they had their finger on their face wiping it down. It's something everyone can relate to really. Oh and Michael Keaton as Batman! He did an amazing job reprising his role and had some nostalgic lines from his original Batman movies. He actually had a lot of screen time than I expected which was a huge plus. I just loved all his scenes and really took me back to those original 90s Batman movie: the song, the way he moved, etc. Affleck didn't really have much at all! I was worried with everything that is happening in the movie that it would be too much to show all at once, but I was wrong. Everything flowed very well and I felt nothing was rushed. As a bonus, the directors (Andy and Barbara, brother and sister) of the movie were sitting with us in the audience watching the movie and took a Q&A session. This was Andy's first time directing a superhero movie because his experience was more with horror flicks. They talked about the movie of course, also about Keaton and how they took him out to dinner and how he was just wearing a shirt and jogging pants as he jogged to the table when he approached them and then after dinner, jogged away with the --script in his armpit and a huge smile on his face. Andy mentioned that his son now can appreciate seeing his dad in a Batman suit as an adult because he was only a baby when Keaton was in the Batman movies. Another thing too was that the Batcave in the movie was actually designed in a very large studio, i believe only the waterfall was CGI, but everything else was all made. He said that when Keaton was in his batsuit he wanted some time to soak it all in again and he asked Andy if he can take a picture of him in all his glory as Batman for his grandson. Alot of info here I know. But the directors also talked about Flash's powers and how they had to leave some of them behind. The original movie was 4 hours long and it was cut to what it is now, some scenes during the pre screen needed some editing, but the final film will have some added scenes not shown in this preview. I don't wanna give it away but there was one scene in particular at the very end I'm eager to see if they reveal something. Certainly a fun ride!! They talked a bit about Ezra and his mental illness. They said he is doing fine and getting the therapy sessions he needed to be back in the big screen in the future, hopefully. His performance in the movie was excellent! Literally playing two different types of characters at the same time and having the dialogue lines between himself and others was just amazing! He really put his heart into this movie. The directors were saying that they had a lot of re-takes for scenes in the movie. Ezra wanted more they said because he wanted things to be perfect! After the movie was done, food and drinks were served. Boy there was a lot to eat!! Pizza, hamburger sliders, salad, foods that were mostly seen in thr movie they were serving to us, donut holes, beer, soda, and even an indoor plant we can take home with the wooden plant vase designed with superhero themed art. Overall I had a very memorable experience and I will certainly look forward to seeing the film again on June 16! We were told not to post anything until after 7:30 pm today so here it is.
  13. Looks like karma finally showed its face with this Greg White dealer and bit him hard in the butt! I never really seen him nor knew about him at all so at first, I felt bad about what happened. After reading more and more first hand experiences from him and how he knowingly advertises these restored raw books as unrestored without any disclosure of the restoration, I really don't feel sorry for this guy anymore. Who knows how many people he had ripped off during all those years as a dealer!! It must add up to the value of the AF 15 that was stolen from him I would think 🤔
  14. There is a promo copy as well aside from the regular #1 copy. I heard the promo version is even rarer
  15. Ok sounds good. Keeping my fingers crossed . Thanks for the response Mike!
  16. Can I ask why there have been no DC custom labels made at all? Any plans on this in the near future? Thanks!
  17. My first golden age book purchased was at Comiclink in 2006, paid $3000. Here are the notes from CL - ComicLink Graded, Right edge trimmed, cover married, Staples and small part of spine reinforced, other slight restoration possible. Vivid, bright colors, piece of tape right edge and staple areas from lower staple to bottom spine, piece out back cover. Funny story about it was that the book had a pending sale and there was a selection on the page to be added to the waitlist. I signed up for that and after a few days, Josh emailed me saying the buyer backed out and asked if I was interested in purchasing. I did in a heartbeat and I had it in my collection for a few years until I later upgraded to an unrestored copy. I sent the book off to CGC, but they wouldn't grade it due to the cover overhang. I wonder now if this book is fully restored and what the grade is given by CGC
  18. I really can't wait to see this movie, hopefully this weekend! I'm a big fan of the Super Mario Bros. franchise ever since I was a little boy starting off with the original NES video games. With the huge success of this movie, I hope that other video game classics such as the Legend of Zelda, Metroid, etc will follow suit in the silver screen! Posting my current NES Super Mario Bros. collection
  19. Damn what a beautiful Marvel 1 Drgoldage! That would cost anyone right now an arm and two legs if sold in today's market.
  20. No Comicconnect. Price for JIM 83 has gone down quite a bit since then.
  21. Same experience with me too on a few books
