  1. I really can't wait to see this movie, hopefully this weekend! I'm a big fan of the Super Mario Bros. franchise ever since I was a little boy starting off with the original NES video games. With the huge success of this movie, I hope that other video game classics such as the Legend of Zelda, Metroid, etc will follow suit in the silver screen! Posting my current NES Super Mario Bros. collection
  2. Damn what a beautiful Marvel 1 Drgoldage! That would cost anyone right now an arm and two legs if sold in today's market.
  3. No Comicconnect. Price for JIM 83 has gone down quite a bit since then.
  4. Same experience with me too on a few books
  5. But what about potential buyers down the road? I think you gotta go ow/w minimum if you’re investing in the book. My personal cut-off for PQ with silver age Marvel books is offwhite pages, DC cream-offwhite.. Golden age is cream-offwhite, but if it's truly a huge grail and/or a very tough book to find, I will go as low as slightly brittle
  6. A lot of this is all based on individual's preferences. Some don't like marvel chipping, some don't mind it because they can get it for a significant discount compared a non chip copy. Only problem here is that from the price given, it doesn't sound like much of a discount is being factored in at all for this rather large and clearly visible fugly Mavrvel chipping. Yea that's true too. I'd offer $25k
  7. A lot of this is all based on individual's preferences. Some don't like marvel chipping, some don't mind it because they can get it for a significant discount compared a non chip copy. Some only buy white paged books, others are more flexible. Just a lot of variables. Buy what you like and what you can afford
  8. I'd pass on this copy and wait for a better presenting copy with better pq and no marvel chipping IF you can find one at around the same price range.
  9. I used to own the Crippen Tec 33. Miss having that book in my collection
  10. It's kinda similar, but remember back then also there was no internet so it was much tougher back then to look up prices for the books and not as much buzz about the hobby too compared to now. Just different timeframes where things have drastically changed since then. I bet if the Church heirs had the collection now, they would be more knowledgable about it and would have the books graded, appraised, etc. then auctioned off.
  11. That was a great buy back then to whoever managed to purchase the book. Now the book is worth maybe triple the asking price. I'm leaning moreso triple since this book closely matches how much a Tec 31 sells for in past sales.
  12. The new and improved Tec 33 https://www.wwcomics.com/comicdetail.asp?Product_ID=Detective_33_33349
  13. Yeah i agree with you guys too that the Fantast CGC label is ugly and very unattractive. Visually it is loud and definitely takes some of your eye away from the book. If I bought one of these Fantast labeled books, I'd automatically reholder it to a regular looking label. The design looks like an 80s Filmation He-Man introduction to me
  14. At that time, I was sort of new in the hobby and didn't know anything about pressing and such. I gave it a GD/VG grade. Now obviously it looks better with that spine roll press.
  15. Found my old photo of the book when I took it around 2008. Had a spine roll which I never had pressed out. I thought I slabbed it, but I was wrong. It was sold raw and in its original state.
  16. The biggest giveaway is the back cover. Very tanned and dark. Looking for close to white - offwhite back covers. Harder to tell in front but you can see it if you have really good eyes and knowledge of the color scheme. These books don't qualify to be in my PC
  17. I considered bidding on both of those books, but I just didn't like how the colors don't pop and has some tanning on covers.
  18. Still better than the AF15 in opinion i could live with that My former copy years ago. Bought it raw and slabbed it. As far as I know, there was no color touch removal.
  19. Sold for $13,800. Congrats with the great sale previously! To be honest, I would be in for around $8k for this particular issue due to the Brittle pages. You definitely made out like a bandit with this one!!
  20. Agreed! There's a lot of variables to consider when it comes to selling your prized collectibles. Trying to time the top or the bottom is an impossible feat. If it were that predictable, you would see more millionaires overnight. I'm sure the ones who thought comic book prices will go up much higher than it was in the back end of 2021 are now regretting that they didn't sell during the peak. Got too greedy and that's the price you pay for believing things will only go up.
  21. MC to my knowledge and experience only happens on the right edge. There's also such a thing as pre-MC too. But yeah when I first saw the image of the AF 15, only took a second for me to know it was color touch removal.
