  1. I believe at that time, I changed my taste in collecting from silver age to golden age. I started buying some GA keys with the funds.
  2. Looks like it will be in production since we exceeded the target # I'll probably also going to pre-order SS when it's up
  3. The Goldin CGC 8.5 white page copy was the one I used to own . Came from the Saginaw collection which was auctioned on ebay by Sparkle City.
  4. Thought this was pretty cool. Didn't know about this either The inspiration for the Joker Conrad Veidt from the 1928 film "The Man Who Laughs."
  5. I think this current CC Event auction has had the strongest realized sale prices thus far since their updated website.
  6. Well, if the underbidder missed out on the CL copy, guess what!!! There is another one practically identical over at Heritage https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/superhero/the-incredible-hulk-1-marvel-1962-cbcs-restored-nm-mt-98-ext-professional-off-white-to-white-pages/a/7246-94172.s?ic2=mytracked-lotspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyTrackedLots-101116
  7. Could you provide a link to this book? I'd like to learn more about it. Oops sorry for not responding until now. My first time coming on today. Glad someone else posted the link.
  8. I loved reading the comic reports from dealers and collectors, but yeah I too haven't bought an OSPG for years now
  9. Is that the copy from the people that tried or are trying to sue CGC because CGC refused to grade their books? Yep!
  10. Would be interesting to see what that CBCS 9.8 IGB Corp. Hulk 1 book sells for tomorrow. I believe it sold on social media for around $30k-$35k. Don't really know the exact number as it was a private sale, but I do remember that was the asking price.
  11. All you need to do to be able to afford this book is to sell 2-3 Super Mario 64 WATA 9.8 games. That's it! Pretty easy task.
  12. Haspel still has his WATA graded games up for sale on ebay . Yeah those older Atari games are tough to come by in higher grade and even almost impossible to get perfect seals on them which is an A++ and he has practically all of em with perfect seals. https://www.ebay.com/str/vintagecomicsonparade?_sop=16&rt=nc
  13. I see editing every year with the guide. Seems like most if not all books move up a certain %
  14. This thread is like a flotation device
  15. No the OSPG is the must all, tell all official price guide for comics that everyone should abide by. If one were to pay over what it says on the guide, that means you overpaid
  16. An AF 15 9.6 is out of my reach but still hoping one will land in my lap in the future
  17. Make sure you "do the Dylan" read in the toilet
  18. Yep that was a lot of fun. No internet, just strictly hunting, calling and getting lucky. It's funny too because a couple of those businesses I called don't deal with comics (basically like I mentioned earlier they are a collectible store but didn't know what collectibles they sell) and I remembered calling those same stores a couple of times within a few weeks and they would get annoyed and wondered why again I was asking for comic books
  19. I also remembered back then that I would look up phone numbers in the directory and literally call every single comic book/collectible store in my area to ask if they had a particular issue available (these were silver age keys). One of them was a DD 7 which I bought off a local shop. When I asked them over the phone how much, they responded that they don't give prices over the phone and for me to go down to the shop and ask about it. I pleaded that it was somewhat far of a drive and if they could just do me this one time with the price. They caved in and said $60. When I got to the store, I told em I was the same person who called about it. Looked at the book and I told them I will buy it. When I came up to the register, they said the price is $80. I questioned them and asked why the bump up in price, you told me $60 over the phone. I don't quite remember what the guy said back but I bought it anyways.
