$49k for a restored Tec 36 5.5!?! Guys' dreaming for days with that price.. I wouldn't even buy it for $5k

I'm glad I kept my 7.5 copy. Probably not going anywhere unless I upgrade.

Yeah I remember seeing something similar several years ago where the same card just all of a sudden jumped up in value and then in less than a year dropped back down to earth. Some say it was due to some "buyer's group" that artificially were pumping up the price. So yeah I know that a bottom is coming. What goes up, must come down with practically every single investment type I've seen.

Haha funny you mentioned the bolded part because that was when I sold my 8.5 Jordan rookie Who would've known it would reach to $20k right now. Only reason why I wanted to sell it is because the card had a small "fish eye" at the bottom border which bugged the heck out of me. I was intending to upgrade to a 9 but got distracted by other things... Oh well.

Yup, been saying it for years ever since AS 8 started hitting those record prices several years ago that it was way overpriced and that the book will go back down to earth someday. Kinda reminded me of MF #73. The problem was solely because AS #8 is and was widely available for sale in multiple venues (auction houses, comic conventions, private sales, etc.) and no WW on the cover which really was a turn off for me. Also the book shot up way too fast, unlike Sensation 1 and WW 1 which in my opinion have had steadier growth. Here are some examples I recorded on past sales during its height: CGC 1.5 Brittle - $15,700 (2017) CBCS 1.5 - $21,250 (2017) CBCS 1.8 - $27,500 (2016) CGC 2.0 - $31,000 (2016) CGC 4.0 -$53,775 (2017) CGC 4.5 $49,400 (2017) CGC 5.0 $58,000 (2017) CGC 5.5 - $83,900 (2017) CGC 9.0 - $411,000 (2016) Seems that current FMV of lower to mid grade is around half of what I posted above. To those who want a copy in your collection, I think now is the time to buy

Sooner or later all these record breaking sports card price sales will crash back down to earth. I am definitely not buying at these levels. Might be the best time to sell if you have any of these cards.
