  1. Yeah unfortunately DC SA keys like SC 4, SC 22, and BB 28 will not be as hot as they used to. Pretty much fizzled out, who knows if or when they will be "hot" again.
  2. Yeah there are a lot of white paged Hulk 1, JIM 83, Spidey 1, just to name a few. Compare that to say AF 15 which is tough to find with white pages and I would maybe put TOS 39 up there too.
  3. Sen 1 > AS 8 > WW 1 for me coverwise.. Still think Sensation 1 is underappreciated and undervalued compared to the two. It's also the hardest to find out of the three with AS 8 being the easiest.
  4. XM #1 is red hot right now as we have all seen. Eventually there will be a time where it will cool off like the rest of the major SA keys that had similar growth spurts in past years - Showcase 4, AF 15, Hulk 1, etc. All a cycle, definitely won't be a buyer at these levels. Fantastic for sellers at this point, but this can't keep up forever.
  5. I'm surprised the Bat 1 and Cap 1 didn't get the CVA sticker treatment I thought both books looked great for the grade.
  6. 1961 wilt chamberlain rookies have skyrocketed in value especially in higher grades
  7. Whole long thread about him over at Blowoutcards
  8. I'd love for that to happen I'd probably be able to afford a nice Tec 27
  9. Although the colors have probably been juiced to some extent, the 9.4 is also in the newer slab. The newer slab presents a book's actual colors more accurately and favorably than the older slab. First time I've heard of this, but you may be right. I do prefer the newer slabs, much more superior and sturdier, also the CGC label colors and texts are bolder and sharper compared to the previous labels making it easier to read from afar. But, I highly doubt even in the newer slab, the Bats 1 9.4 does not have those kinds of colors going for it in person. Of course I could be wrong because I have not seen the book in person. There are have been numerous known instances where HA does brighten up the scans of their books to possibly boost up the bidding activity realizing a higher hammer price. So, I will stick to the the buyer's first-hand accounts.
  10. Hey Mitch; It would appear that even Batman doesn't have the detective skills which you are able to amass in terms of digging up the original scan for this book. The only question which I have is that for the life of me, I simply can't figure out which one of these scans here would be more truly reflective of the book's real colors? The HA scan is slightly juiced up (no surprise there) but I'm sure the colors are vibrant nonetheless. Aloha Mitch and thank you for the scan comparison. Whether in 9.0 slab or 9.4 slab, beautiful book. Edited 10 hours ago by Gotham Kid If I was the winner of the 9.4 Bats 1, I'd be unhappy that it is not the true representation of the actual colors of the book. The way HA juices up the front cover scan makes it look like a reprint.

  12. I've got to believe that is a bit weak for a non-MC AF#15 5.0 ......... I agree, the bottom piece missing and the tanning especially at the back cover are eye sores. I think a well-presenting 5.0 copy should be around $35k-$40k
  13. I never trusted the PWCC auctions, very controversial with accusations of shill bidding, allowing shady consignors consign their graded trimmed/altered cards, which PSA and BGS missed and also owner of company Brent Huigens is I believe currently investigated by the FBI for auctioning off thousands of those doctored cards, in which he is aware about. Possibly the largest case of fraud in the sports card hobby. Kinda reminds me of Bill Mastro.
  14. Actually recently I've noticed that CL has been posting back cover pix of the more valuable books in their auctions. It used to be just the big "featured books," now it's even semi-keys included within a certain dollar value I believe.
  15. Sorry Clayface, you're right. I got used to thinking it was Joker
  16. Why does he have to hang onto a Clay's pole?
  17. Or went from The Dark Knight to a babysitter
