Seems like a flood of Cap 1's in almost all grades have been coming out for sale. About a year or so ago, finding unrestored copies were scarce. It's a cycle that we often see with golden age books. I wonder what's next.

Bodnar's Auction OO Silver Age Collection
Dark Knight replied to Dark Knight's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
I think it's because the oo is not a comic book collector and may have just found the easiest way to sell them which was through Bodnar since they are local to him in NJ I believe. He probably would've done better if the books were graded and auctioned off at a reputable comic book auction house but it seems like he didnt do his homework. I believe it was just the case of I want to sell these ASAP due to all the superhero/movie hype happening now. -
So, Why Has AF #15 Continued to Drop In Value?
Dark Knight replied to KEY ISSUES Comics's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Yup that summer of 2017 really took off for AF 15's, the start of things to come later. Pretty sure all of us were shocked. A few mentioned that it was upgradeable, guess it didnt upgrade. I believe it was in an older label? -

Bodnar's Auction OO Silver Age Collection
Dark Knight replied to Dark Knight's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Possibly, I took a more conservative approach to grading since I can only judge by the pictures given with no back cover pix too on any of the books. I did see a tiny hole above the bottom staple area which is one of the factors as to why I graded it as such. -
Bodnar's Auction OO Silver Age Collection
Dark Knight replied to Dark Knight's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Yea, according to Bird Geppi won it. Based on the pictures of the AF 15, I had graded the book as a VG+. So it practically sold for what a VG+ would sell for if graded (I believe there is a 15% buyer's premium on top of the sale price for floor bidders). Pages on that book are nice, may be white? -

Good for the him! Ya usually you here collections like this being cashed out by their heirs because the owner passed on. Now he can enjoy the rest of his life with the added cash flow from the sale. -

Cool, thanks for sharing Bird . Quite a nice collection of oo books that sold. I believe the owner of these books is on FB. I may ask him all about it through there someday. Hopefully there is nothing serious about the back covers of these books. Congrats on the pickups! -
Relisted with a 100k opening bid last I checked yesterday with a reserve not met.. Saw that its changed to a $100 opening bid now. Weird.

Ze-Man. That’s who I use and recommend. Ze-Man has worked on the last 2 books I sent in. I'm very impressed and highly recommend him. -
I agree with you GCG, the book has cooled down. I was about to quite that 4.0 price that sold last year. I believe the book just went astronomically too high a couple years or so ago that now it is coming back down to earth. I wasn't a believer at those prices then and didn't bid at those numbers. This, I say, is more FMV. Yes, that 2.5 is a beauty and would love to have it in my collection.. But not right now
