  1. This is the old Heritage scan (book now reholdered) but this beauty is now mine. It's the Harvey Kurtzman File Copy which is awesome.
  2. This is the old Heritage scan (book has now been reholdered) but I just picked up this beauty:
  3. 4.0 restored. CT/piece fill in the red of the top front cover and the pieces on the top of the back cover look like they might have been reattached.
  4. Sure. I don't think either Suspense 8 or Startling 11 are drawn particularly well.
  5. Of course, lots of people would like to own both but that is a far cry from concluding that Suspense 8 should appreciate in the same way as Mask 1 and 2 have. I just don't think Suspense 8 is in the same league as the Mask books. But reasonable minds will differ so it isn't an argument we can resolve.
  6. With the top staple popped, the big stains on the BC, and the accumulation of wear I am at 4.0 max. For reference I've had otherwise near mint books with only half popped staples get 7.0.
  7. The highest graded (1 of 3) copy of this book is in the current Clink auction. It will be interesting to see where it lands: https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH.ASP%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Dmanhunt%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item_1367586&id=1367586&itemType=0
  8. In my opinion Suspense 8 is far inferior to either of the Mask books. And I'd bet that Startling Terror 11 has a better chance of exploding than Suspense 8. But I don't really see either taking off to the same degree as Mask. My 2c...
  9. Startling 49 has slipped for sure. Phantom Lady 17 is doing pretty well. I was blown away by this sale:
  10. It has taken a really long time looking for me to find one of these. Really low census (9 universal) even compared to the surrounding issues (Weird 1 has 28 universal, Weird 3 17 and Weird 4 16) and one of Lou fine's best IMO. Love it!
  11. I love the look on the face of the witch in the rear.
  12. This. I don't know how much of that ink stain is ever going to come out and likely caps the grade at a 5.0.
  13. Thats a nice looking 1.8. I also think the #2 is the better cover; I'm not sure how heretical that opinion is.
  14. That CT bleeds through to the inside so removal will leave holes. Probably best not to mess with it.
  15. I've seen books go as high as 9.4 with a book length dust shadow. Given how nice the rest of the book is I'm thinking 8.0/8.5. Printer's creases are allowed all the way up until 9.8 so I would ignore that.
  16. I was at 2.5 before reading the other suggestions.
  17. It's hard to see the spine in the pics posted. But based on what I can see the book presents substantially better than most 4.0s. I was a little bit concerned that the spine was brittle based on that interior shot but overall I think it looks structurally sound. Anything from 4.5-6.0 wouldn't surprise me.
  18. The books posted in this thread say 'universal' in the header of the label but have resto noted...
  19. Question has been answered here this is not a change in labels but rather a mistake:
  20. So a book with tear seals could get a blue label?
