  1. Actually, I just started (unintentionally) and X-Men SA collection thanks to Pirate. So I think my New Year's resolution is going to be to work from that issue back to number 1. (which will take more than 1 year.) I'd like to slab each book as well.

Well Rob (great name thumbsup2.gif ) you cannot find another bunch of great x-men-ites then the ones who frequent this thread to help you out with that goal yay.gif

though watch out for KC and MK they be mean and nasty poke2.gifpoke2.gif

  2. New Years Resolutions:

    1) to cut down the issues required for a complete run of X-men from 31 down to 15 (if not better)

    2) to send to CGC my raw issues of between 1-94

    3) to start to upgrade those issues i already have slabbed

    AND THE BIG RESOLUTION

    4) to finally get my holiest of holies grail...X-Men #1

What are your resolutions for the coming year? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

    My resolutions........

    Continue my X-men upgrade

    1) Fill in the few holes left in 100-201

    2) fill the reprint holes 9.4 and up (slabbed of course) grin.gif

    3) continue the upgrade of SA X-books to 9.4 or higher.

    4) pickup an x-men 3 in 9.4

    5) fill in CA and Modern X-men holes when available.

    I'll be very busy crazy.gif

I've got my 893crossfingers-thumb.gif893crossfingers-thumb.gif for you to succeed (well except when we are both going after the same book...not that i would do that to YOU devil.gif ).

The upgrading is the devil of it all, but it must be done if you want to settle fully on cloud9.gif

It's that same logic seen when you see a lot of

ugly kids walking the streets these days...

Yes but when he got his "make over" from Apocalypse, he was quite buff. Am sure Kitty would have loved it... 27_laughing.gif

Sorry, Mate. I was in the middle of an oilcan when I wrote that post.

27_laughing.gif it's ok mate, i wont ask you to wrestle a croc or anything. thumbsup2.gif

  6. OK, since i am a nice guy...check out vintagecollectables.net ( assume that it's a good honest site overall)

I did a little comparison with a few other sites and the prices are not too bad considering the grades.

An example Metro has a raw #96 for $245 as opposed to the slabbed 9.6 for $440

Good luck. I'll have to pass. Maybe next year for me. thumbsup2.gif

    then i shouldn't tell you about #103 & #105 in 9.8? devil.gif

My heart says yes but my wallet is screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I have already have spent too much. Thanks but I'll have to wait until next year. What site did you find these beauties at?

Found them at Heritage. They've got arun in their weekly auction #92-109 plus some more. Lowest grade is 9.2. So they may not make it past this auction.

And like you my wallet is screaming at the ref for a 10 count, but i am going to make a play for one of them if not both.

    yay.gif

I noticed you bidding on those books this morning, phoenix. I put a couple half-hearted bids in myself...

    Congrats! 893applaud-thumb.gif

Thanks for that, I was surprised that i got virtually all of them

And by the way, love those early covers, especially that lurid red cover of #17

Congrats!! 893applaud-thumb.gif Where did you see the 96 in 9.6? I've been looking for that one in 9.6. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

lol.don't you bloody well dare, you yank fiend you devil.gif

Actually I'll let you know later when i get home to confirm because this site had 4 x-men titles #20, 38,96, 143(i think). the #20 was in 9.4, the 38 & 96 were in 9.6 and the 143 was in 9.8 ow/w

  12. i think if you added up all titles collected in the 334 pages of this thread. x-men would win by a landslide

Goes to show you how plentiful they are out there tongue.gif

You cannot blame us x-men fans for respecting and looking after our copies, unlike the moldy oldies from GA land... poke2.gif

  13. xmen91cgc9_4.jpg

And you didn't go after the #92? poke2.gif

That was priced beyond even my deep pockets. 27_laughing.gif

That final price was absurd insane.gif

    What did it finish at??

    About $718 from memory..i know it was a 9.8, but still!! screwy.gif

According to the census, it's the only 9.8. so it wasn't that bad I guess.

Very true, i just wish it was mine 27_laughing.gif
