  1. Hmmmm yes wondering about potential for damage .
  2. Maybe I am using the term inner well wrong , seems like a piece under the main case that comic is secured to
  3. Hi , So it seems sometimes the inner well of the case moves up and down maybe 1-2 mm? It appears that is an inner portion and not the comic moving freely , is this normal?
  4. I'm trying to look at the positives like "ok well I can get the book cleaned and pressed and maybe get a higher grade :"
  5. Yes I didnt think it was damaged via mishandling , but the other slabs I have are not like that and the seller said he had never seen anything like that before .
  6. Oh thats good I was under the impression people were particular about not having defects on the case , newton rings etc
  7. oh geez , i was wondering if it was damage or scratches on the inside but I thought , how is this possible to be on the inside ? Acually still wondering how the inner well could be damaged Cool that there is a chance of it being re slabbed for free though
  8. So I just bought this book from facebook marketplace , the buyer said the case was in great shape when we were negotiating . It is interesting because in a certain light it looks clear but in another light there are like 100 or more disortions that look like the pictures . They wont come off from cleaing the case so I dont think they are spots . Any ideas on what to do ? Guessing this would effect the value if I resold it ?
  9. Hi just noticing this is a designation as well . Does this affect the price, say for example their is a relatively high grade key or 1000 dollar book , both in a 7.0 , do people pay more for the same grade based on the whiteness of the pages ? Thanks
  10. How much does dirt l like this typically effect a grade ?
  11. The are some light spots not , not sure if they will clean at the bottom of the book back , otherwise I like the condtion , will probably send this to be graded . Thanks !
  12. Yes the surprises of the pleasant variety are the best heh heh
  13. So I just bought this book , and to say the slab has issues would be an understatement . It is cracked in one area , it has a newton ring , multiple scuffs, fingerprints , and the silver cgc label in the upper right corner is somewhat ripped off and incomplete, how is this possible if the book is sealed ? So the good news , I dont see any flaws that would prevent a 9.8 , maybe a ridge in spine about a half inch from edge but even this is hard to see in pics , maybe I am imagining it , but hoping this is the flaw and can be pressed out . So what do you think? It definitely needs a new case so maybe crack it , press it and resubmit ? Thanks
  14. So yes the staples looked odd and yet the rest of the book looked so good
  15. Ahhhh yes this one is pretty far too , how does the book read when you open it ? Can you see to the edges of the spine ?
  16. Yes that was my thought , they looked so odd that they looked unnatural
  17. Oh no kidding , it looked so odd to me , I have never seen a book look like this before .
  18. Wondering how much this affects the grade , have never seen an example of this so pronounced .
