  1. They go out searching for a missing dish and spoon or something?
  2. This has all kinds of cool going on. Nice.
  3. Well there's a chance of that. Obviously storing art in a UV-protected mylar or framed with UV-coated plexi or glass would be helpful.
  4. Nice books. I'm praying to get a couple Ayers sigs on my books this year. I tried hard last year but could't get the books out to a witness in time. I've got my fingers crossed that someone goes to the Motor City Con in May and he shows up for it (he's listed as a guest.) Congrats on that sig.
  5. I'm going to wager that some people think they're better and some don't like them as much. (The real beautiful thing about the OA hobby, as I'm discovering, is there really is less pressure to have a certain opinion about things. It's just art and people understand that taste is highly individual.) I know the Dynamite books pages I've seen don't have inks. (Like the Red Sonja page posted yesterday.) I prefer inked pages because I like to display art I buy. And inked pages just show up better across a room. But some people like to see the raw pencils without the inks... particularly other artists wanting to see more closely how people draw. My 2cents.
  6. As a kid, I'd have to say ASM 300. I'd read Spidey comics before that, but it became a singular obsession at that point in my childhood. As an adult, no doubt it's Boy Comics 19. Best comic story ever. So bizarre.
  7. There are some fairly pretty books out there. Are these interesting reads as well?
  8. I know it's kind of obvious, but... Hitler
  9. Kudos to deamentia for some great Spider-Man OA during the VCC. Shipping was AWESOME. Thanks again -Rob-
  10. I really enjoy it. I've been getting them signed because Howard Wong (the writer) is a really nice guy. I even got him to do a sketch of the Crow for me. It was terrible and I love it. I think he had fun doing it too. (My wife and I thought it was the Joker. And then he was like... "no, no it's the Crow!" And we had a nice long talk about the Crow movies) Anyway, I diverged, but the point is... the books are good. Start with the first series if you can.
  11. Not the most exciting book in the thread, but it is the only one (per census) and I happen to both love the book and think the writer is one of the nicest guys in comics.
  12. Mega Kudos to AlexH. He helped me with a bunch of SS books this convention season, and I got the rest of them back today. They are BEAUTIFUL. I know he had to really work it to get all the signatures, and I know he was working hard for other people that submitted books as well. Don't know if he'll see this or not, but he really went to alot of work for people this season, and it was really appreciated. I got to add 3 John Romita signature books to my collection, he got a nice Captain America sketch cover done (and got JRJR's sig on it to boot) and still found time to get a Turner/Steigerwald sig for me on yet another book. Alex-- thanks again so much. Got the books back super-fast too.
  13. This is just outstanding. I didn't think I was going to love anything more than that Wonder Woman until I scrolled down and saw the Tec 1. Hopefully I can get my hands on one of those someday myself. Congrats!
  14. You don't see a cover quite like this every day. Is there a story inside that matches it? As a matter of fact there is! (The guy gets plowed by that subway train.) I'm a sicko but I can't get enough of some of the SOTI type material.
  15. Yeah I thought the "black market" on the meat was particularly odd.
  16. Well, some modest recent pick-ups. I finally did get my first Schomburg cover. Obviously, I've added to my Boy Comics run (including a 19 that displays reasonably well-- I LOVE that cover).
  17. What a nice book! I'm really impressed! This wasn't one of the Trolleys was it? -Rob-
  18. This is a really attractive book. Congrats on the pick-up.
  19. HUGE kudos to Flaming_Telepath . I got a very conservatively graded Daredevil 6 at the VCC. It's putting all my SA Daredevils to utter shame. Bigtime thanks buddy! Definitely one of my best purchases on the boards. -Rob-
  20. Kudos to comicdey for a really nice Ghost Rider #1. I frankly got overly excited about the freebies as well (AIM Spider-Man promos I'd not seen before.) Was nice to get a book shipped from Alaska as well. Since they're already attached to Canuckland, it got here in an insanely fast amount of time. Uber-thanks Collin!
  21. If you post an OT post in the WC about comics, would the thread get pulled and moved over here? And if it's about the new Silver Surfer quarter, does that get moved to here or the coin-nerd place?
  22. Ignore the thread de-rail here. (I figure it doesn't matter much since this post is OT anyway.) I've been trying to post a reply here for about 15 minutes and IE keeps crashing. I made some changes so I'm trying to see if I can post now.
