  1. I tend to use the Elseworlds recalled edition of a good example of why you can’t measure scarcity accurately some sources state this book only having 600 exist and other’s 2000 who knows what’s actually correct it’s just estimates nothing more

I hope that's what I'm doing.  Just filled out my Nova collection with #2,3, and 7 so now I own 1-10 all raw plus the CGC 9.8 #1 and I also bought a CBCS 9.8 Black Lightning #1, but I already own from buying as a kid 1-5 and they are all 9+.  I think that should hold me for a while.  Now I just need to decide where I can start a display area in my house :)

You need to crop out the label for the black lightning they don’t allow you show any other slab labels apart from there’s

All good points everyone.  Thank you!

At the moment I'm in the whirlwind phase of a new interest for me, and I'd like to buy Nova 1-5 to fill in my collection.  I'm not looking to make money on the deal, and my biggest thought is that prices are on the move so if I try to be patient right now that might actually backfire.  Any thoughts?

While I would say that Nova will no doubt start moving in price at some point I think it’s a while before it happens with this copy I’d buy it if only I was sure this is the copy I want what is your personal choice

Thank you!  It's been a labor of love, that's for sure.  One day, I might complete my X-Men UKPV run if a low grade rag of #1 doesn't reach the straotsphere in price.

Hopefully you can get an x-men 1 pence I know how hard it is to do as a run for the pence copies it took me years to replace my x-men 101 pence in a grade I was happy with

Yes, I've bought and sold ASM runs a few times over the years and I suppose a little bit of me thought I'd do it again one day. Not now though. Maybe another Andru run, but nothing much lower. Shame isn't it.

Yeah it is a shame I guess I’ll just have to be happy with what I’ll keep and maybe one day I’ll try again on the run but now is an awful time to collect ASM. I’ll just make sure to skip McFarlanes run if I do go for it again

10K final hammer price on this UKPV just now:

Add 25% commission, and that's a lot of money for what looked like a 3.5 to me - and with a rather prominent pen mark.

With each successive sale it seems that collecting the early Marvels is moving further and further out of sight for the average collector. AF#15 used to be the one collectors would lament as being out of reach financially. Looks like it has company now.

Marvellous in one way, I suppose. Oddly sad in another, I find, as it sort of signals the end of an era. The era when it was obtainable. Who but the most wealthy would set out now to put an ASM run together, I wonder, knowing that the first issue, even in low grade, is now in the new car price range?

This is sadly why I’ve had to give up on my Amazing Spider-Man run at this point I’m going to sell most and keep a few cause it’s just to much to finish the run. On the bright side I did manage to complete one part of my goals with ASM and that’s to own a double cover

It's common sense failure on several levels. Not only are they destroying a precious item through a lack of reasonable care, the seller is sabotaging their own sale, almost guaranteeing a return and inviting reputation impacting problems. It's a lose lose.

Exactly but I imagine if you tried to explain this to the seller they would probably ignore you and tell them to stop wasting there time cause they think they know everything that tends to be the case

  8. I have had this problem so many problems with this is why I rarely order online anymore. I ordered  a Fantastic  Four 55 once it looked to be probably a 7.0 when it arrived it was destroyed it looked like someone had stamped on the Jiffy bag they sent it in. Honestly it doesn’t hurt to use common sense it’s a comic it isn’t going to survive the post service in a unsupported Jiffy bag
