  1. What, NO B.P.R.D. books?!?!? I'm disappointed...
  2. Hey, I'm trying to liquidate most of collection and remaining 'inventory'. About 400 items are currently listed in my Ebay Store. Can I post a link to it here? I don't want to close the store just to relist the books here in the regular selling forums. LOTS of work was put into listing everything in my Ebay Store, and I don't want to have done it for nothing. I plan on selling most of the remaining books from my collection/inventory via the regular forum, so that won't be an issue. Please clarify. Thanks!
  3. No good finds at garage sales and flea markets, but I have answered some online ads and asked if they had comics even though the ads made no mention of them. Usually, the answer is 'no', but once the guy said: "Yeah", but they're not available yet to the public. This was about 3 years ago. Lucky me though - he said I could take a look before it went public. The guy had a warehouse and one room was devoted to unsorted comics, most of which were 'garbage' from the later 1970s-early 1980s (ie) KA-ZAR, MOON KNIGHT, MICRONAUTS, etc... Lots of duplication and most were unbagged and unboarded. I spent a few hours digging and he said I could take it all for $2K or something like that, which wasn't entirely unreasonable considering the volume. What am I going to do with 25 copies of MICRONAUTS #17!?!?! I collected all of the good vintage stuff into one long box for easier access. Then I told him I'd think about it. And so I did, and went back several days later. By now, I had asked if I could pick and choose (cherry-pick in our circles ) and he agreed. The deal was take WHATEVER I want for $1/book, with NO MINIMUM. So I proceed to go through it all once more, but I never found the box I made on the previous visit after spending a few hours pulling books... So, I made out with 40 MILLER WOLVIE #1s, of which 6 came back from CGC as 9.6 WP, and one 9.4 WP . Not bad for my first CGC submission, and for books sitting in the open without bags and boards!!! . I blew the rest of the cpies out on Ebay for $19.99 or $29.99 each, depending upon the grade. I felt guilty taking them - I even left the 20 or so lowest grade copies there... What else did I take that day? About 20 KAMANDI #1s in VFish grade, other VFish 1970s KIRBY books, plenty of CHARLTON stuff, and an assortment of misc books for total of 500 books for $500.00. Here's the kicker. I asked about the vintage stuff and he said, they're in the back, but not part of the deal. So, the other shoe had dropped.... BUT, he then lays down the law and tells me those books are $2/each. And guess what I got at $2 each? Some low grade SA MARVEL AND DC, plus some fun 1970s magazines, and the like, PLUS.......................... A CANADIAN WHITE of an early GA ARCHIE and 2 of the last issues of the GA CAPTAIN AMERICA series - booh yeah!!!! The CAPS were remainder copies missing the top 1/4 of the FC, but the books themselves were NICE. I flipped them the next day for $100.00, which I quickly realized was too low, but hey, it cost me $4.00. I do wish I had kept them though. That's my best find, besides finding a VG/FN copy of BATMAN #232 in a LCS $1 bin....
  4. Kudos to c-mack for the well-packaged and well-priced ST #101.
  5. I've lowered the prices on my slabs. AND I'll be starting a new thread in the COPPER/MODERN forum where I'll hopefully move 1+ longbox of books from ASM to GOON to WALKING DEAD to X-MEN. I hope to start it this evening, if not sooner.
  6. I've got 60 or so slabs up for sale in the MIXED AGE THREAD. From SA AVENGERS to DD #168 to multiple ASM #238/252/300 to NEXT MEN #21 to INVINCIBLE #1 and more!!!
  7. CGC 9.4-9.8 G.I. JOE (MARVEL) issues including #155!!! in the Copper/Modern forum. Thanks for looking!
  8. Har! Heck, I should of kept my copy. My girlfriend is a McGill student.
  9. Or buy the second print and read it in color  Yes, but I'm ALREADY buying WALKING DEAD so it's perfect for me!
  10. CHEW #1 will be reprinted in B&W in WALKING DEAD #63 in case no one brought this up yet. YEAH!!! I don't have to pay $40 to read it now.
  11. No books yet and no scans but I got the following grades (I hope my SILVER AGE submissions turn out as well! ). By the way, several (ALL of the JOEs) will be available for sale. Here we go: (UNCANNY) X-MEN #130 CGC 9.6 WP (UNCANNY) X-MEN #132 CGC 9.6 WP (UNCANNY) X-MEN #134 CGC 9.6 WP (UNCANNY) X-MEN #141 CGC 9.8 WP (UNCANNY) X-MEN #141 CGC 9.8 WP UNCANNY X-MEN #143 CGC 9.6 WP ASM #252 CGC 9.6 WP ASM #300 CGC 9.2 WP (pleasant surprise - I was thinking 8.5-9.0) G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #95 CGC 9.4 WP G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #124 CGC 9.8 WP G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #126 CGC 9.8 WP G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #132 CGC 9.8 WP G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #134 CGC 9.8 WP G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #139 CGC 9.6 WP G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #140 CGC 9.8 WP G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #143 CGC 9.8 WP G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #155 CGC 9.8 WP (boy, I'm glad I didn't sell it here raw for about $90 a few months back...) WOLVERINE LIMITED SERIES #1 CGC 9.8 WP I thought 9.6 at best, and I'm blown away with the WP rating. Granted, grading paper quality is not something I'm good at. I sold several other late JOE issues from the same collection here raw several months back. I'm guessing the buyers are pleased since they probably grade 9.4-9.6. I wish I could 9.8s for the books I CARE ABOUT
  12. COOL cover, and a rather interesting cover price - 39 cents...
  13. Very nice books. I recently sold a #8 CGC 9.8 white Nice score. Aw, the memories those covers brought back. I read them all as a kid!
  14. Hmmmm, interesting catch. Maybe Al Milgrom had something to do with it... Same cover artist. Wow - I NEVER noticed the cover of IF #14 was by Mr. Milgrom. Must be his best cover by far!!!
  15. Hi Gang, I'll be posting a run of late G.I. JOES issues #100-155 (well, I might not be selling the #155) plus some other earlier issues. I've already posted scans of several but they're kind of lost towards the end of my current sales thread, which was somewhat derailed by the recent technical problems with the forum server. I'll give that thread a day or so to finish its life-cycle and then start a G.I. JOE thread. The rest of the stuff will likely head to my Fleebay Store. Thanks for looking.
  16. KUDOS to TheAvenger80 for the BATMAN #232 & X-MEN #14!!! (thumbs u
  17. No scans yet, but my latest submission arrived. Most were pleasant surprises, which more than make up for the 3 "major" disappointments. As usual, it's my expected grade listed first, then followed by the actual grade. X-MEN #94 - 7.5 (6.5) AVENGERS #33 - 9.0 (8.0) MARVEL SPOTLIGHT #4 - 9.2 (8.5) Those were the 3 major disappointments.... A couple of surprises/mild disappointments amongst the following, but overall VERY pleased. FF #167 - 9.2 (9.4) X-MEN #134 - 9.4 (9.6) X-MEN #266 - 9.0 (9.6) (thumbs u X-MEN #266 - 9.4 (9.8) X-MEN #266 - 9.4 (9.8) NEW MUTANTS #87 - 9.4 (9.6) NEW MUTANTS #98 - 9.4 (9.6) ASM #300 - 6.5 (8.0 SP) ASM #300 - 7.5 (8.5) (thumbs u ASM #300 - 9.0 (9.6) ASM #252 - 9.0 (9.6) ASM #252 - 9.0 (9.8) X-MEN #94 - 3.0 (2.5) AVENGERS #32 - 9.0 (9.2) (thumbs u STANGE TALES #72 - 6.0 (6.0) ACTION COMICS #252 - 3.0 (3.0) That restored ASM #300 really surprised me since I got it from what I thought was an OO collection.... And I cannot believe I got an ASM #300 9.6. I'm usually good at identifying the higher grade stuff, but this one didn't make my cut for anything above 9.0-9.2. I'll take it!
  18. I'll be starting my 1st sales thread before Christmas Day, and will likely be adding to it for the next 2 weeks. Right now, I'm working on a spreadsheet of initial books to be sold. Next phase is scanning some covers tomorrow, and hopefully start posting here Tues. night/Wed. morning . I guess you'd rather know WHAT instead of WHEN, huh? Well, about 20 or so CGC Moderns (9.6s and 9.8s) including CAPTAIN AMERICA #25 (both editions), DK RETURNS #1, SPAWN #1, etc... After that I'l list some sets (ie) PARADISE X/UNIVERSE X/EARTH X MEGA set, WORLD WAR HULK, SECRET INVASION, and so forth. As for "oldies" I'll have a lot consisting of about 20-30 digests/little big books/novels, plus a slew of GOLD KEY and DELLS, as well as some odds and ends from EC, CHARLTON, etc... Thanks for looking (and wish me luck!)
  19. Kudos to: blue808 for my CGC 3.5 X-MEN #1, and dm for my CGC 3.0 AF #15. Right in time for Christmas - thanks!!!!
