  1. I think it's a tough set to complete, and usually fetches a strong price when a complete set surfaces. Or I could be mistaken...
  2. Which volumes, especially in regards to PUNISHER??? Thanks!
  3. Well, I have 2 more higher grade copies. Selling the one copy for $39.99 has more than paid for all 3. I'll watch the market and see what happens...
  4. I sure hope so, because I just snatched up 13 copies on-line for less than cover. I hope they ALL arrive, quickly, and in good shape fo a quick flip. The more moderns I flip, the closer I get to buying some books from my want list!!!
  5. I can't believe people are still paying top dollar for Walking Dead weeklies. Can anyone explain this? Shouldn't this have stopped by now? I just got $39.99 for a WDW #19 on Ebay...
  6. NM 98 is a copper age book and not a modern. 1 year difference. Big deal. So, when is the current MODERN AGE going to be called something else? I mean, the MODERN AGE cannot continue forever...
  7. Well another tried and true modern key is picking up steam in the 9.8 range yet AGAIN. NM #98 CGC 9.8... And they are NOT all from JAREDSKEYCOMICS.
  8. Good lord - I wish everyone with an early 1990s collection for sale could read this....
  9. The price on this book has gone bonkers this week on Ebay.... I had my CGC 8.5 available for sale for 6 years without any takers, until a month ago when it finally sold, and now people are paying about twice my asking price. It's amazing how people are so easily influenced by a movie, TV show, or recent story arc when it comes to demand. Crazy I tell ya, just crazy....
  10. Well, it looks like the $50.00 I spent a few years back on this print was a good call. It's not a comic, but I would probably have to pay more for it today. I guess I'm not the only Michonne fan...
  11. Anyone notice how T-Dog immediately got some screen time and lines after a regular 'departed'?
  12. Yes, we americans love our guns, except in a bunch of the largest cities in the country where we aren't allowed to have them (for now). It is actually a law in a city here that you must own one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennesaw,_Georgia#Gun_law For real? Good grief. It should be a law that everyone gets basic health care and education. Oh oh. I feel a first strike coming on for being 'political'. I'll stop now.
  13. Complete culture clash. I'm always amazed at the fascination folks from the US have with firearms...
  14. Perhaps the difference simply lies in the respective media. One TV episode = roughly 1 hour of my time, and the story doesn't really move ahead, and then you have to wait a week. 5 issues or so = roughly 1 hour of my time and a lot more happens during that time. (I know I can sit down and watch 5 episodes of the TV in a row as well, but that would be roughly 5 hours...) Plus, I don't really care for the characters on TV.... I'm much more emotionally invested in the characters when I read the comic. Is that a result of mediocre acting/direction versus quality scripting and strong pencilling? Also, it doesn't feel like anything horrible is EVER going to happen on the TV series. Yes, Sophia was a zombie and was then shot, but that's rather tame by the comic book's standards and they never really developed Sophia on TV, thus it never really hit home on an emotional level, and I've already forgotten about her... Whereas, for instance, I always think about Shane while reading the comic . I just don't see the TV series ever being as tense as the comic, which is what I believe to be the strength of the comic book. It has an omnipresent sense of foreboding dread that anything can and probably will happen. It's just my . I wish I enjoyed it as much as you do. Meanwhile I'm awaiting the 3rd instalment of DAY BY DAY ARMAGEDDON. Check it out if you haven't done so already.
  15. Sorry, but my interest in the comic series will not at all be affected by the TV series.
  16. Added: Akiyama as per above 2 complaints - PM's were sent; no activity on boards in 2012. Also, I see Good Ash has made good on one deal, hopefully he'll figure out something with the other two when he can For time being he stays on. Where did you see that about Good Ash? I still have 2 of the 4 books he promised to purchase. Aces posted a couple days ago in this thread, a few posts up. You weren't even one of the other guys wanting to add GoodAsh - maybe you could check to see if these two got anything from him. I just saw ACES post - thanks! But I was one of those who thought he should added. He left me hanging for over $1K... I just didn't come out and demand his crucifixion (thumbs u .

  18. Are you saying that they would consider it to be a printing defect? I would doubt that since it's a post production issue. I might roll the dice if the book picks up steam - that way I'll break even at worse if they come back as 9.2. I'm just really reluctant because the last 2 ASM vol.2 #36s I sent in came back as 9.2s.... They exhibited plenty of colour rub though. Thanks!
  19. Do you think it would have more of an impact if it were on the FC as is the case with the NONPLAYER #1s?
  20. Does anyone know what kind of impact it has on a CGC-graded comic? You know what I'm talking about. When ink is transferred from one cover to another when they've been stored together without a bag or other barrier in between them. You see this often on white covers - especially back covers. Very common on the white back covers of ASM vol.2 #36 because of the black front covers. I've got 2 copies of NONPLAYER #1 and I was thinking of having them graded. They look to be 9.6 or higher structurally, but they exhibit some colour rubbing in the white frame of the FC. How do you think CGC would grade them? I'm thinking abut 9.2-9.4. Any comments?
  21. I concur. Season two has been a bore fest so far, especially the latest episode. Wow - let's watch people dig holes and pile up corpses for 80% of the episode. The only interesting part was the scene in the bar, but the outcome of that was obvious about 10 seconds after the 2 strangers walked in. Not nearly as suspenseful as it could, and should, have been. Well, Michonne is supposed to appear this season, and I think it's obvious that those two bozos are part of a larger group. It's unlikely that 2 like that could survive on their own. I'm quickly losing interest in the series, which is a shame since the comic book has been my favourite since the day it came out. The show pales in comparison compared to it. I don't need to see zombies and action sequences every episode, but it just feels like it's crawling along without much of a direction.
  22. A vorhees to the end I just cannot cut ties with my slashing ways....
  23. Man, this thread has gone down the pooper yet again.... Sheesh. @BAZZLE: please stop. Start another thread if you don't like this one. This thread serves a purpose and it's getting cluttered with the endless back and forth comments.
  24. I too say add GOODASH to the HOS. For a guy with a tight budget he sure did make a bunch of high-priced deals ($1.5 K with me...). It says to me he never intended to pay for them.
  25. Is the set in NM/MT, 9.8-like condition? K. Is it heating up on ebay? I think it's heating up on the boards K. And here I was giving issues of it as FREEBIES in my thread. Seriously though, this series has ALWAYS sold well, and is relatively difficult to complete. All of the STARLIN THANOS works sell very well.
