  1. No worries october. old man has now apologized for conduct in our past dealings, and he has sent me a paypal payment for the one remaining book remaining from our past transaction. I now echo october's request to have old man removed from the probation list. Rehabilitation is possible
  2. Glad to hear you were able to reach a conclusion october. He may be off your list, but he still has not made good on my transaciton, so lets not jump the gun just yet. He has PM'd me to find out what can be done on our transaction, , and I will post here to advise regarding the result. If we can reach amicable turns, then I certainly wouldn't be against having him removed from the list at that point.
  3. My buyer made good on the transaction today, so all is well
  4. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on Wonder Woman. I didn't realize she was that popular, but I am glad to hear it. I have always had a fondness for her character, and the cover of All-Star #8 is quite good IMO (although she is not pictured). How rare would you say All Star #8 is? I see 45 on the census. Wonder Woman #1? I see there are 45 on the census, but not sure how many raw. Sensation #1? 28 on the census. Thx for sharing
  5. I didn't see that anyone has mentioned All-Star #8. I realize that #3 has a large price tag affixed to it, but the 1st appearance of Wonder Woman makes that book the one that I would love to have. It doesn't seem to get a whole lot a hype compared to other early hero books. I have a feeling that she was more popular back then than she is now, although I am sure she has a cult following now-a-days.
  6. I would like to thank everyone who played a part that lead to me obtaining my grail! Kudos to comicdey, Comcasthawk, Dawgwindu, and Monkeyman for prompt payment on recent purchases. Special thanks also go out to those who expressed their opinion on the grade of my grail, based upon grader's notes. This includes: oakman29 djpinkpanther comicdey Point Five Stark 72 silverseeker rjpb divad Mutie Fan Extra special thanks to comicdey, divad, and to skybolt for discussions of the book via PM. Finally, I would like to thank Monkeyman, comicdey and Transplant for last minute purchases in my selling thread, which helped raise the fund raising total over my expectations. Thanks everyone!!
  7. Thanks go to lizards2 and JazzMan for quick payment on some books. Thanks for putting me closer to obtaining a grail
  8. Sorry to hear that. Yeah, the request for a back cover scan after the sale would raise red flags with me, too. However, if he hasn't yet read the PM with the scan, I suggest you sit tight. I've been led to believe that some people actually have lives beyond these boards, although what that might be like, I have no idea. You mean they don't spend every waking second on these boards? Unacceptable Thanks for the advice. I will sit tight and hope for the best.
  9. I've run into an issue that I am looking for some guidance on. I had a person post the "I'll take it" sign on my recent selling thread. He has not paid, but it only has been a couple of days. I sent him an invoice via PM, but instead of paying, his is last communication requested that I do him a favor and provide him with a back cover scan, which I promptly did. He has not viewed the PM, despite the fact that I have seen that he was online. What to do? The whole purpose of my thread was to raise some cash in a somewhat urgent manner, and the purchaser seems like he is now getting cold feet.
  10. He wanted to confirm my confidence that the book was a certain grade. My PM confirmed the grade, with details of the imperfections and the qualities of the book. The PM ended by saying "do we have a deal," just to make the buyer was 100% confident of the purchase. He hasn't read my response yet, although, he did indicate not to worry if he didn't back to me right away in his initial PM, with the indication that he would be traveling... I'm thinking under this circumstance, you probably are right that it is his book.
  11. If I have someone post in my selling thread that they will "take" my book pending PM. I then PM to confirm but they haven't gotten back on the boards to read my response. He has not read the response PM yet. Then I have another board member also want to purchase. Who does the book belong to?
  12. Thanks to Weird Paper for a flawless transaction, and for bringing me one step closer to completing a run.
  13. Holy cow Batman! That book is stunning!! I have got to find a copy of that in the future.
  14. They all look like they originated from the John McLaughlin collection to me. Heritage September 2006.
  15. Those are some beautiful Weird Tales books BangZoom! I love Brundage's work. Some of her covers are really breathtaking
  16. Conan should get eaten so Brundage can go back to drawing what is important. Here is a cover with nice focus: Not sure if Theogenes book has a nipple or not, but my former book certainly seems to have remnants:
  17. It is almost like child gibberish, with indications of specific titles he was after on the very bottom. I questioned how CGC could award a 5.5 grade with that much writing.
  18. I have seen the back cover remember? I was looking to purchase it until I saw the extent of Recil's handiwork on the back cover. I remember calling CGC and their notes doesn't even discuss the litany of nothingness written on the back.
  19. I don't have any Larson's to sell jkrk, so what is your real answer?
  20. How is it that Larson pedigree's don't seem to be downgraded for having the name written on the covers? Or are they downgraded?
