  1. It feels like so much has been discussed about the Snyder cut already that it would be almost impossible to spring any new surprises on us when this finally releases. You never know of course as a lot of footage seems to have been well hidden so far but would they dare tease new stuff whilst the studio says nothing more will come of it.... Having re watched BvS ultimate edition recently I really hope the tone matches and the Junkie XL score returns the themes that worked so well, particularly when Superman comes back. Those scenes alone should make some grand viewing. Plus we saw a few hints in the fandome trailer of a new Knightmare sequence and that element of BvS has really grown on me since re watching, I remember in the cinema at the time there were a lot of confused muffles around the audience but it’s so damn good!
  2. As other posts have mentioned the values of certain comics will likely live and die by their related media attention but hopefully the good old golden/silver age stuff will forever be popular as a part of publishing history. No doubt many modern comics will eventually fall into this category too based on their cultural impact with new readers. Can you imagine though that if the worst was to happen and for whatever reason the interest really did drop off in 20 years, if you were still a comics fan as many of us will always be, suddenly you could afford anything you wanted..... And this wouldn't be because you think its going to make you rich but because you simply love comics and would enjoy and appreciate them.
  3. Gem mint, Very Gary Comics and ComicTom are the 3 I’ve started enjoying. Covers a lot of topics and interesting speculation / cgc slabbing fun!
  4. It’s certainly not a look that makes you think you would pick it up off the shelf when you saw it, nothing original about it. But as many have pointed out it’s whether the story itself is any good to give it reason. I used to read ASM religiously but only ever dipped in and out since it got into the Brand New Day phase. I’m still waiting for the next story to make me want to read it again.
  5. Nice pick up. Got to love that 316 cover. I recently got mine graded as part of a cgc submission and it looks great, as most McFarlane covers do!
  6. Wow that's some collection.... Out of interest is this through just a love of the issue/character or to sell when he hits the big time? (Currently always on the speculation lists these days)
  7. I've always been an ASM collector but the likes of FF 48 and 49 look so good I am tempted to sell off some of the run to try and get a copy. Prices are forever creeping up whenever I check in on these. Some of what I've always thought of as 'nothing special' issues in the ASM run can still go for a few quid which leads me down the age old decision of trimming the collection to see if the hobby can pay for itself and fund just some blue chip keys only. Particularly because most of the keys are books that you know you'd love to have with no regrets.
  8. Great news on the Google Play option for the UK. Interestingly it doesn't seem to confirm yet if this is still a 4 episode mini series or just a single movie approach yet. Although I've heard there is supposed to be another trailer and probably a firm release date announced early in the New Year, should tell us which option they're going for....
  9. It doesn't feel like Abrams would suit this version of Superman but it will depend what sort of direction they want to go with it since it's still not very clear if they want to change the style or not. Maybe after Justice League in March we'll hear something. I'd love for that film to do well so they continue his story from there, black suit and all!
  10. ASM 55 does look awesome and from what I can tell on pre-orders here in the UK it definitely has potential. I went for the virgin cover on a spur of the moment purchase and it's already sold out when I checked again earlier. It's a slippery slope though with these cool looking covers, I could see the ASM 56 Momoko variant showing available next, but then where does it stop!
  11. Nice work on those restorations. Would love to find a spinner of some kind here in the UK, that plexiglass style sounds awesome!
  12. It's interesting to see what comes out every now and then but hopefully it truly is resolved for those involved and we get a cracking movie in March and some tease of other related projects in the future.... Even the idea of a comic based sequel would be great to see the story played out. The Knightmare timeline story for example would make a fantastic 6 issue series in a similar vein to recent DC events like 'Last knight on earth' or 'Death Metal.'
  13. Anyone have much experience sending submissions from the UK recently? I did my first batch through an approved dealer and the turnaround time for a straightforward value tier was amazing. I could never work out if the London office have actually started doing grading from within or if they still send it to the US and back.
  14. I was a big fan when it started, I stuck with the Spider-Man run pretty much until the end of the Bendis/Bagley partnership, I think I stopped reading just before Miles came into things. (So missed out on that UF #4, doh!) At the time I loved the original Ultimates run and dipped into X-Men / Fantastic Four for while. Like you I didn't have much exposure to their mainline titles so I really enjoyed the fresh start approach but as I've been recently trying to trim down my collection I reckon I'll offload them soon. There's a lot of good reading there for a kid somewhere to pick up and hopefully enjoy.
  15. Great news on the March release date, been looking forward to this since it was first announced! Hoping to hear some news soon about where this gets picked up here in the UK, maybe an Amazon purchase or it goes straight to Sky Box Office (as I've heard WW84 may do after its xmas cinema run).
