  1. ah ok, I would consider that actively for sale. I think if you are asking for an offer, and the offer is disappointing, you should be professional and just say no thank you, without being rude about it. But as Pete said, you are dealing with people, some people will sell with a reasonable offer, while others are just fishing and aren't really interested in selling (even if it was on a for sale gallery marked as make an offer) Malvin
  2. one question, was the piece for sale (even passively rather than actively) or was it a piece you were trying to pry from someone's collection? Malvin

  9. I'm not commenting on this thread but in general, unfortunately that is very common for people on the internet to think that their opinion is fact. The best one (not in this forum) is a specific page that knowledgeable collectors valued at $1.5k'ish, and another person said its rare and should be worth $15k, therefore there is subjectivity (that fact that he is not willing to pay $15k, or the fact that no one in the planet has ever paid $15k for a similar page did not matter) Malvin
  10. In this particular case, I think the chance is near zero. He is currently an executive with DC comics so I doubt he will provide Marvel with any new OA (I know the old trading cards were re-used as variant covers, but that is a special case) Malvin
  11. I use office /work scanners all the time. Most are faster too, you just hit send each time right at the copier, while at home I have to walk back to my computer to re-scan Malvin
  12. very cool, even rarer than a DPS, interlocking covers. Congrats!
  13. ah, you got that one. Congrats! I regretted not going after that one stronger back in the day. Of course if I owned that I wouldn't have gone after the covers... Malvin
  14. I haven't contributed much to any of the "show your xxx" threads, but DPS is probably the rarest type of pages (especially double page splashes instead of double page spreads). Each comic book has a cover. 99% of comic books has at least 1 splash. Not al comic books have a DPS, and you need to buy 2 pages to get one! (I have bought half a DPS a few times in my collecting journey) Rather than link them all, I will use CAF's feature: Link to my double page spreads link to my double page splashes Thanks for looking Malvin
  15. same here. It was the only time they had something that interested me (at the price they wanted). Haven't seen another piece like that since Malvin

  20. those covers are definitely not as popular as on with a splash/single image. Looking through, I see that I have a couple: Alan Moore's Supreme 42 - Homage to Superman 423 cover Steve McNiven Split Cover with Captain America and Thing At the end of the day, they are trying to sell the comic, so if it catches your interest, it worked! Malvin
  21. One of the few specific pages that I really wanted popped up so I grabbed it and it's mine! CAF Link to Hilarious John Buscema Wolverine 8 End page with Mr. Fixit Thanks for looking Malvin
  22. Now that I am in front of a computer instead of my phone, here is a link to the First Bisley Published Lobo Piece on my CAF Thanks for looking Malvin
  23. Yeah, if that was Lobo it might be a different story. Even then a random sketch is not as meaningful unless it was a design for the miniseries. Of course I have his first published Lobo piece. Malvin
  24. 4 figures? Quite a few. Zeck and John Buscema comes to mind. I am sure there are others. It's just supply and demand, if I popular artist limits recreations or are just hard to commission, 4 figures is easy to reach. Malvin
  25. Yeah, nostalgia is a big driver. Certainly if it is shared widely on social media, it would help with the value of the OA since more people saw it, but the nostalgia from reading the comic is a massive driver compared to most other factors in our hobby. Malvin
