Glad my Liefeld X-force/Shatterstar cover sold, although I would have expected it to go beyond the reserve ($1K) I'm also glad to have won the Cary Nord Ultimate Human cover Malvin

  5. Saying that though, I think Sean articulated a great framework to evaluate Dealers. That is a different document. Malvin
  6. This was supposed to be an FAQ, not a weighted score for dealers. Malvin
  7. As grapeape said, it's usually a comic I already own. But when I first started, I usually sought out a 2nd copy from dollar bins so I can take the comic apart and keep the page with the oa. That stopped making sense when my collection grew larger Malvin
  8. I guess it was Curt Swan's birthday recently. This is a bit late but I just added a great pencil superman commission from him in my CAF! CAF Link Thanks for looking Malvin

  13. I'm now finding that there are less and less OA that interest me, but i still went to my local big con (FanExpo Vancouver). It was a pleasant surprise that I found a couple of things to buy: 1. Mike Grell Prelim to his Green Arrow Omnibus Cover - CAF Link He indicated that he doesn't plan to sell the painted version anytime soon. 2. Cary Nord Batman Commission - CAF Link Apparently someone else commissioned it and bailed. I liked it so I bought it. Thanks for looking Malvin
  14. Wow, $60 for blank boards? Were these vintage or modern? If modern that means any artist whose sketches /commissions on DC Marvel board that sells for less effectively devalued it! Malvin
  15. yes, in general most sharpies will fade over time. In general hanging it up will be worse for fading (regardless of whether or not you use UV or museum glass) Malvin

  19. I thought you meant it was sold, not ended without bids EBay should really bring back listing fees at 1% of starting bid, would really cut down the Malvin
  20. It could have been consigned (or traded which is same as sold, but consigned)

  22. you aren't suppose to vote for your own, I wouldn't be surprised if Bill set it up so that you can't. Malvin
  23. I don't think artists change the price after you tell them the character... at least I haven't run across that. In the past I did commission someone where he charges $1 per minute, so he will spend as much time as you are willing to pay. But the answer to the question is Batman and maybe Wolverine. I don't think it matters if it is splash, panel page, or cover, it's just based on the character's popularity. Surprisingly Spidey doesn't come up for me. Malvin
