  1. wait wait, is this another minor problem that few care about, but because this is an internet we start coming up with solutions where someone else has to spend time and money to fix this non-problem? Malvin
  2. Heh, I messaged both previous owners of the Platt Batman Joker I uploaded to CAF and they both ignored me. And no, they are not dormant. Malvin
  3. It's simple for you. Not for others. Bill/CAF has to: 1. Program the -script/functionality that you want. And if you say it's minor, its not your time or money, he could be programming other functionality the more people will find useful. Or spend his time relaxing or whatever he does with his idle time. 2. EVERY SINGLE CAF MEMBER has to read and click yes this email that only a small minority is interested in. 3. Bill/CAF has to deal with questions, blowback, change management and just other issue related to doing this. And in return, the small minority won't see galleries that are dormant. That they are free to ignore or mentally mark as dormant to begin with. I'm not seeing the cost/benefit of doing this. Malvin
  4. I am assuming that you just upload to your regular gallery, and when the contest starts you can pick among all your main gallery uploads in calendar year 2019 as your entries. Malvin
  5. I think this is typical internet armchair quarterback behaviour where people are trying to solve minor problems with other people's time and money. Malvin
  6. That sums it up for me. Why force a purchase just to fulfill a goal? Plus stuff invariably turns up that you didn't know you wanted until you saw it. Those things never make it to a goal list Malvin
  7. ok, I'll play. This one seems nutty, and there is minimal OA. I'm also one of the biggest Red Son OA fans out there and I dont think I would pay 1/10th the price. (it doesn't help that it's not clear what are faxes vs. OA, but even if its as all OA the price is optimistic) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Archive-of-Superman-Red-Son-Drawings-and-Faxes-Johnson-Millar/333385648936?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Malvin
  8. ah, you got it, congrats and welcome to the ASSman club. Malvin
  9. When I saw the title I thought you had one for sale I'm after one too but I generally don't pay top dollar so good luck Malvin
  10. same here actually, ebay bonus bucks didn't get me looking as hard as it used to. Malvin
  11. I just got 3 more this morning after I posted about this! Malvin
  12. I've noticed that I have been getting emails from ebay saying that I have been offered a special discount from items I am watching. Do you think all of them is the seller actually taking that action? (or some sort of setting ) Or could ebay be doing it without the seller and eating the discount? The last one I got was 8%, and some were 5%, so ebay would still make money. I have also seen ones that were higher %, those might be the seller modifying their auction and lowering the BIN price. Anyone else get these offers and have these thoughts? or do I just watch a lot of items and read all my ebay emails? Malvin
  13. I thought the Quitely All Star Superman panel page finished really high. I sold my half splash for not much more than what that panel went for, and I thought I got a good price! Malvin
  14. you'll know market value when it ends in 15 minutes. Its not like original art by McFarlane (with no typos, bad scans, or wrong category issue) would somehow fall under the radar and sell for less than market value... Malvin
  15. Yeah 50k was insane and made no sense. As you pointed out, it's orders of magnitude his normal art prices. Malvin
  16. For their auctions, CLink also has the art in hand I believe, at least for all my consignments I sent it to them. I think only their Exchange selling is where you keep the art and then only send once it sells. Malvin
  17. Wow, that is a surprising result. Malvin
  18. yeah, I had no idea there were 4 either. I guess there is always more to learn... Malvin
  19. Sales tax has certainly affected me. There were a few times on ebay when I thought something was a great buy, then I saw the price with sales tax and it made me think more carefully before deciding not to buy it. It's giving me more discipline and now I buy less junk Malvin
  20. true, but if you were a consigner, having the price close to what you want before it hits the floor gives you comfort. and if you were a bidder.. gives you hope if it was low... Malvin
  21. if you look in his sold items, it also previously sold for $511 Either the buyer backed out, or got it and realized it wasn't OA and returned it.
  22. Maybe I am not up with the latest lingo, but what is super herp? ah, autocorrect solved it, super hero. Malvin
