  1. Here's another one of my favorite "Brown Monster" covers... On the inside he's steel-blue, but he must have been caught in the rain and rusted up when just before this cover scene.
  2. I will admit that this book as seen thru mylar does give it a nice rich tint, but I likes my covers like I likes my meat...totally RAW!
  3. I think it has a slightly "harder" look than the typical DC cover. The interior story is beautiful. Extnay onway ethay Ousehay ofway Ysterymay! I have been trying to find that book in HG for ages...the last thing I need is competition from a bunch of you HG yahoos!
  4. I hear ya! It goes soooo nice with these puppies:
  5. Wow, what a nice copy! That bright orange Gargoyle really pops out at ya! BEWARE HUNDU!
  6. Since we are showcasing some pre-hero B&Bs...
  7. Here is another Egyptian-themes issue... And an Inca-themed too!
  8. Since we are on the topic of my favorite Silver Age team -- Robert Kanigher's SUICIDE SQUAD...I thought you guys might enjoy this! One of the best and friendliest artists out there is Mr. Neil Vokes. This gentleman has indulged my Silver Age fanboy fancies with this spectacular rendering of the original DC Suicide Squad vs. that terrifying, but often misunderstood, Charlton beastie: GORGO. This sure would have made a great cover if DC and Charlton ever did cross-over team-ups back in the early 60s. I love the touch with Big Ben in the background...a nice tip of the hat to the GORGO film. Bill
  9. Dudes...#58 is the "King of the Hill" in monster covers. I wish Ditko had done more covers like this. You could even say that this cover is kindofa a precursor to FF1 -- maybe a bit of a stretch, but there are some elements of FF1 in there... I remember Mark Wilson calling me back in '91 (or maybe it was '92?) telling me that he finally got one in and to to stop badgering him! It was a great day indeed.
  10. Hey, thats a nice cover...it kind of reminds me of the classic EC yarn: "Girls 50 Girls"! I wonder which came first? I dont think the enthusiasm for DC sci-fi has died...this is just a typical summer slow down...everyone on vacation and all that!
  11. Jerry had some nice books this time out. I really liked the pre-hero JIMs books he had from the series mid #50s run!
  12. UGH...I cant believe this won out over #29...I never thought too much about #34...oh well.
  13. If you are interested in sone interesting Skrull prototypes, check out the "Martians" from the ROBOT X story in Amazing Adventures #4: http://monsterblog.oneroom.org/stories/?story=robotx&page=12 This is one of the best robot stories ... EVER! Bill
  14. Here are 2 more of my favorite early TTA covers!
  15. I want this book. Me too. No thanks...I'm good!
  16. Thats a great book! NICE. The creature from PILLDOR is another close cousin of THE THING!
  17. Hey Jimbo, those are super-nice books! Those SW 3's are really hard to find. It took me quite a few years to find a nice one. Its a one of the few stories where a female (of all things!) is the main character -- then again...she turns out to be a really ditzy blonde reporter...so maybe it dosent do too much for the status of women in the SA. Bill
  18. Just some of my favorite covers from each title!
  19. Sounds good to me . Fire away. ....you forgot Strange Worlds. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u ...and WORLD OF FANTASY 16-19.
