  1. Here are some MGAs that I got around to scanning! Great art by Meskin, Cardy, and Moreira.
  2. I'm selling some HG SA Actions/Supermans in the Sales Forum (that makes me a "SA dealer", right?) Please check them out: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3845971#Post3845971 thanks, Bill
  3. That really is a creepy monster for a DC fantasy book. I think I like it!
  4. My oh my, those are some swell books Z ! That HOS 3 is one of my favorite Cleo covers. And that TOTU 16 is quite rare in nice shape -- it contains that pre-JIM83 Kirby Thor story that you never see reprinted! Bill
  5. Great books!! Now, I'm gonna start looking for pre-hero Marvels. I'm more of a DC collector, but I love this title. Thanks for posting them again! Thanks Steve + you're very welcome. The preheros are a blast to collect, so have fun! Please...everyone...lets fess up: collecting pre-heros is a bunch of hype. In the long term, these thing will be worthless...trust me! Get rid of them now, while you still can!!!
  6. Nice colors on that #78! As for the #104, I wish had me one of them thar Buck Rogers hats! Great Gil Kane cover... Next to Atomic Knights, Space Museum was my favorite feature in Strange Adventures. Its interesting how much we get to learn about the Parkers as the series progresses...
  7. True, I always forget that the Haunted Tank was really a fantasy series... Do you guys know of any other fantasy/sci-f themes war stories that appeared in the BIG 5 prior to SSWS #90? I think I just found a new sub-genre to collect! thanks, Bill
  8. ST 100 is very tought to get in HG. I have see a few, but a lot of them have nasty chipping...like my copy.
  9. Here is a nice copy that I picked up last week! Its the first (and unfortunatly) last apperance of the MINUTE COMMANDOS...a great fantasy story about some commandos who meet some added challenges when they are shrunk by a mysterious green ray while parachuting behind enemy lines... Classic Kanihger & Andru...its too bad this series never took off, it could have been a lot of fun (a nice change of place from those drippy old war stroies...). It would have made a nice little back up feature in SSWS...maybe alternating with GI ROBOT.
  10. WOWZERS! Those are by far my favorite SPELLBOUND covers!. That #20 is outstanding -- great work by Heath. Are those puppies part of a pedigree?
  11. Ah, I see another alumni of good ol' PU is here on the boards....and remember: "A wiggly worm, sir, is the lowest lump of whale blubber in the ocean depth, and nothing is lower than a freshman at Prinstone U..." AND DONT YOU FORGET IT!~
  12. I know a lot of you "war guys" dont think much of the dino or "fantasy" themed war stories...but I stumbled upon this cool art blog where a bunch of very talented artists contribute to an "art jam" every week with a different obscure comic character. Well, this week's character is none other than GI ROBOT. Check out some of this stuff! http://comictwart.blogspot.com/ Enjoy!
  13. That's funny you should mention this one. I actually looked it up in GCD last night to see who drew the cover because it was so striking and unusual, and they list Lee Elias. I can see Elias in the faces. The story is Lee Elias...one of his better fantasy tales. Very underratted book, this one is!
  14. Here are a bunch of recent aquisitions... Nice Moreira story! I do love...I say I do love a good bathesphere cover, I really like this cover...I am a sucker for a rock monster.
  15. John, your SA Sci-Fi collection continues to impress me...WOW! I always loved that #2 cover! Besides Moreira, I would have liked to have seen Andru & Esposito stick with RIP. And that #20 is so sweeeet (thumbs u
  16. OMG...the #20 took me ages to find in a decent FN/VF condition. A very very tough book in grade!
  17. Oops...almost for got my copy of #25...almost that is!
  18. Did someone say...SHOWCASE Rip Hunters? Fantastic Ruben Moreira art...its a shame he didnt stay with the series. Can't beat a Circe Super-duper Kubert!
  19. You mean this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/DENNIS-THE-MENACE-1-CGC-5-5-VERY-RARE-THIS-NICE-5-53_W0QQitemZ370328817403QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5639514efb And..he's charging $20 postage!
  20. This is one of my favorite pre-heros! This one has got everything...a great giant lobster cover &story by Kirby, a moody Heck doomsday tale, and perhaps the BEST Ditko pre-hero story: "Something Lurks Inside". The Ditko story is about a brave astronaut who lands on an alien world inhabited by...gruesome giant spider creatures -- who seem to grow from microscopic size to enormous proportions...I wont spoil the ending!
  21. I'm in a bit of a "buggy" mood, so I thought I would show some insect covers! Cool cover... The "sister" book to TTA #27...I wonder if the "Bee-Man" could have been turned into a hero? I doubt it, but he would have made a nice addition to the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants...
  22. I just picked this one up this week. Great Everett cover, Bob Brown dinosaur art, and a nice 1956 early Ditko story. I think this is one of his first Atlas stories. There are soem other early Ditko stories in MYSTERY TALES, but I dont recall which came first...
  23. Finally got a nice copy of this lil gem! I am putting this in the pre-hero thread, cause it has a great monster cover by Everett, an T-Rex story by Bob Brown, and ...oh... there is a nifty early Altas Ditko story: "The Vanishing Martians". A nice book that you dont see everyday.
