  1. First "modern" age Fury appeared in FF #21, no?.
  2. Holy spit! I've never seen that one before! Looks like a Charlton FAMOUS MONSTERS clone. Any Ditko on the inside? Unfortunately, all Steve did was the cover. Hey Tony, I checked this issue out on Blake Bell's "Ditko Looked Up" site, and he mentions that there is a Ditko 3 pager called "K". Check out the issue again..their may be some hidden treasure in there for you! Bill
  3. Holy spit! I've never seen that one before! Looks like a Charlton FAMOUS MONSTERS clone. Any Ditko on the inside?
  4. Nice Books Tony D (psst... you should post these in the CHARLTON Sci-Fi thread over at the Silver forum!) Do you have any OUT OF THIS WORLDs? Those had some really surreal covers. thanks, Bill
  5. 2nd app. of the Wasp. Also another 5 page Ditko gem. Those 5 pagers are almost forgotten in TTA,TOS and ST after the heros take over the lead stories.
  6. Wow, what a co-inky-dince... I also want to thank 143ksk for the sweet copy of JETTA #5. Wonderful to deal with. Thanks! Bill
  7. I must admit that Ant-man is one of my favorite heros...and he could have no better partner than the Wonderful Wasp! This is also a great monster cover as well.
  8. I just realized that I never posted this baby before. One of my favorite covers!
  9. I must interject here. Don Heck was one of the most prominent Atlas artists of the 50s and early 60s. He had a distinct style and did fantastic work on fantasy, westerns and war titles..not to mention the early adventures of Iron Man. His work on the pre-hero fantasy titles is just as good, IMO, as the stuff Kirby and Ditko were doing. I understand your statement. At the dawn of the Marvel age, Heck was asked to ape Kirby's style and, I always found it lacking -- especially some of his later Avengers work. Not to de-rail this thread...but is one of the most dynamic Atlas covers, done by the master: A classic....a shame Don never did more pre-hero covers!
  10. Hmm. I wonder which scarecrow would win in a fight?
  11. Preeesenting...A parade of THING prototypes! Anyone got more?
  12. You mean, this issue? Awesome splash page!
  13. I have to chuckle everytime I see the "Doctor Doom" verbiage on this issue. The only thing this monster has in common with Victor Von D is the iron mask and nada else! Also, I believe this was on the stands at the same time as FF#5 - as both have a July 62 cover date.
  14. Hey Tony, those early Charltons covers are just fantastic! How is the interior art? With the Charltons, there are a lot of sub-par Ditko interiors, but every once in a while, a true gem pops out. thanks, Bill
  15. Nice helecopter cover...also some above average efforts by Moriera inside!
  16. Hey, I noticed that there are some definite wash-tone qualities on the Multi-Man in this 12cent Challangers...Whadya think?
  17. Like robot stories? How about this one... The story here is one of the best Kirby fantasy tales -- a morality play about pride, prejudice, and what makes one human...
  18. Tough to get them in that condition. How many of the pre-hero issues do you have/need? Thanks! All I need are issues #1-6, and 12 in nice condition to complete my collection.
  19. Strange...I think the same knucklehead also wrote on my comic as well..the nerve!
  20. Picked this up this week...Luv those early Kubert VIKING PRINCE stories!
  21. A new B&B joins my ranks. Great stories and art...especially that Kubert Viking Prince.
  22. Just a smattering of Ditko pre-hero covers... And some nice Charltons...
